Re: November Discussion Thread - SEVENTY-FIVE WORD WRITING CHALLENGE

I don't know, I'll bet he's never given a 75-word sermon!

(Should try it -- you'd get lots of applause from hungry parishioners!)

Re: November Discussion Thread - SEVENTY-FIVE WORD WRITING CHALLENGE

I think it's an excellent theme, and one that can be interpreted in many ways. In fact, I can hear the wheels going round in the heads of our resident punsters already.

Re: November Discussion Thread - SEVENTY-FIVE WORD WRITING CHALLENGE

Hurrah a new contest! I look forward to trying to get creative, and then to reading lots of cool new minifictions. Let November commence!

Re: November Discussion Thread - SEVENTY-FIVE WORD WRITING CHALLENGE

This month's subject looks like just the ticket....

Re: November Discussion Thread - SEVENTY-FIVE WORD WRITING CHALLENGE

This isn't fair, Cul. You made it so Parson will have an unfair advantage.

Hmm, I've spoken of redemption a time or two. :p

Applause is always nice! My last applause for a sermon came when preaching at the chapel service for alma mater a few weeks ago. It did this old Parson's heart good when 900 students gave me a serious round applause after a 10 min sermon. I was on cloud nine for a couple of days after that. :):)

Re: November Discussion Thread - SEVENTY-FIVE WORD WRITING CHALLENGE

and I just used my fantasy redemption story over in the 300 thread... nice pun as always ursa and you've possibly saved me from an embarrassingly bad arcade scene :).

Re: November Discussion Thread - SEVENTY-FIVE WORD WRITING CHALLENGE

What a great theme. (Possibly one of my favourites yet!)

Ironically my first few glimmerings of ideas are SF so they're immediately discarded!

Re: November Discussion Thread - SEVENTY-FIVE WORD WRITING CHALLENGE

Usually by now we have three or four entries.

Great theme by the way. :)

Re: November Discussion Thread - SEVENTY-FIVE WORD WRITING CHALLENGE

I keep telling myself I'll wait or week or two, but I couldn't pass up the chance to be first.

Re: November Discussion Thread - SEVENTY-FIVE WORD WRITING CHALLENGE

Perp Man, somewhere I had a joke about you being "out of print", but I can't find it, probably all for the better. If I had posted it, I would have been looking for a way to redeem myself.

Re: November Discussion Thread - SEVENTY-FIVE WORD WRITING CHALLENGE

My entry is up, not as good as I hoped...

Re: November Discussion Thread - SEVENTY-FIVE WORD WRITING CHALLENGE

I liked it, Mith, a very good entry! I'm glad you and Platty got the ball rolling - I was afraid I'd stumped everyone. Myself included - I have no idea what to write!

Re: November Discussion Thread - SEVENTY-FIVE WORD WRITING CHALLENGE

I know what I want to write, just not how to write it. ;)

Re: November Discussion Thread - SEVENTY-FIVE WORD WRITING CHALLENGE

WOW, just read the first few entries, feel inclined to throw in the towel already. This is going to be SOME month.

Re: November Discussion Thread - SEVENTY-FIVE WORD WRITING CHALLENGE

And then there was mine. It was a hell of a story I was coming up with, damn it all to Hell anyway. (Please, Parson, pardon my expression.)

It had to be SEVERELY weakened to fit. I had finished it unedited to over four hundred words, something I would have loved to have kept. But alas, it was not meant to be and a lot of what made any sense had to be removed.
