Re: November Discussion Thread - SEVENTY-FIVE WORD WRITING CHALLENGE

Oooooops

wrong thread

I Thought this was the 300 comments thread.

No wonder I never win these things - I can't read!

Re: November Discussion Thread - SEVENTY-FIVE WORD WRITING CHALLENGE

I hope to get my comments in this month at some point, but as I am uh creatively directed elsewhere for a month there might be some delay...

No matter what, I'll definitely stick a story in at some point, I've got one jotted down, just need polishing. It might not get that sheen but one way or another it will be posted.

Re: November Discussion Thread - SEVENTY-FIVE WORD WRITING CHALLENGE

A much belated congratulations to Cul!

And apologies for the lack of a) an entry (my muse is drunk in a gutter somewhere I'm sure) and, more especially, b) for the lack of a vote last month. I still haven't even read the entries! Although it will be nice to do so without having to pick a favourite.

With any luck I'll actually have an idea worth working on this month...

...and assuming my up-and-down-like-the-Assyrian-empire net connection permits.

This quote gave me a chuckle. :D Which king do you think is next in line for the throne?

Hopewrites: I enjoyed your poem a lot. It had a childlike prayer quality to a very adult theme.

Appologies to those who read my entry. It's a Barry Crocker (Shocker). I had no real inspiration for this months theme, sorry.

Re: November Discussion Thread - SEVENTY-FIVE WORD WRITING CHALLENGE

Thank you Parson I am happier with this months entry then with last months. Even happier to have poetry coming back to me, I haven't written any in months. I was hoping to capture a little of the darkness that makes redemption necessary, and a little of the light that hope brings to it.

Southron sword I got a chuckle out of your piece, I was wondering how the title would tie in until that last line, then I got it and :D -ed.

Regarding the Assyrian characteristics of No One's internet connection: perhaps the line goes down like a wolf on the fold**.

Re: November Discussion Thread - SEVENTY-FIVE WORD WRITING CHALLENGE

I have almost no idea what to do with Redemption. The word alone just makes my head hurt. To fit an idea down to 75 words is going to tax me like probably nothing I've tried to write before.

I need to spout some nonsense on a notepad and see what sticks. I'm lost here.

Which reminds me...

The writing challenge page requires superhuman levels of concentration to find the right thread. Every title contains the words challenge, thread, word. Is there any way we could, er, colour code for each month or something similar?

Yes. But it will have to involve painting you puke green, shaving a donkey's tail, throwing three buckets worth of quarters, one at a time, at Donald Trump, eating seventeen gallons of liquid dark chocolate that is 92% cocoa, and calling up every world leader in a single night and ask them if they prefer cheddar cheese or Monterey Jack in their food.

So, nothing complicated there ;) after we catch Donald, of course.

Re: November Discussion Thread - SEVENTY-FIVE WORD WRITING CHALLENGE

There's nothing to be said about capturing Donald; if we go THAT route we have to also paper mache the Hubble telescope, steal the golden arches from every McDonald's in exactly seventeen states, juggle hamster balls, and give every single male goose in Canada the name "Boppy".

Re: November Discussion Thread - SEVENTY-FIVE WORD WRITING CHALLENGE

So, they're not all called Boppy? I think we can up the bar here a little; what about mcdonald's in seventeen countries? I suspect going off thread now...

Re: November Discussion Thread - SEVENTY-FIVE WORD WRITING CHALLENGE

No no no no no; we only take them from seventeen COUNTRIES if the day we name the geese begins with a "T", and if that's the case, we have to ride vertically across the Atlantic ocean in an ancient Native American canoe, provide solid, legal justification on why the color red has the name of red, swipe a Costco membership card from a female Chinese circus clown, and rub the heads of every bald man in North America.

Re: November Discussion Thread - SEVENTY-FIVE WORD WRITING CHALLENGE

or go with the lazy answer of "the name of the month is also included, but not the year, so the change would be to add the year" or "we could add the theme to the title as well from now on" so that when looking for a challenge where you remember what it was about but not when...

We do try and make it obvious as to which is which, but I don't think colour coding is possible, unfortunately. We'll have another think about how to avoid confusion.

Re: November Discussion Thread - SEVENTY-FIVE WORD WRITING CHALLENGE

Howdy,
You people make everything sound like sooooo much work kinda reminds me of, " a woman's work is never done-----------------------------simply because it's never begun". So roll up your sleeves and get to work-------I'll take the geese !
