It's crazy how quickly the entries pile up. Although it does mean we hit a slow patch for the two weeks following the first rush and preceding the last-minute brigade.

I'm glad that my challenge was received so well, though!

Besides Karn and Hope are doing an excellent job.
Thanks *sunny smile* I've enjoyed doing it so far. Off to the wedding tomorrow so you'll have to wait for the next weekend for me to catch up, but just cause i'm not here doesnt mean I dont mean to keep it up.
you always say what a joy they are to write, and I'm getting a taste for what you mean. its nice to really dig into the stories rather than gloss over them gleaning out the top 50% that hit me and trying to ween that down to one vote. I feel like I'm picking up on a lot more of what is in the entries which will only make voting harder, but much more satisfying.
best of luck with your waiting, I always find it harder to wait for things to happen that I know will make me deliriously happy.

I'm sorry, I didn't realise that was the traditional response to these challenges. Probably too late to moan now that I've already posted a story. :p

It's never too late. ;)

Maybe when everyone looks back at their posts in a week and want to change them (isn't it always the way :D). Crazy how many posts we have for just 3/4 days into the month.

Thank you for the comments, Karn, that made me smile; I can see a full length book developing in my head now... oh dear, not another book, I've not finished this one yet!

Popped-in, posted, popped-out again.

Why, oh why, is the bar set so high??

My mind is drawing a blank for this one. Actually, it's not drawing anything, and that's the problem. I'd rather it drew a blank than nothing.

rj: These family-centered ones always seem to get to me, especially ones like this when the family gets separated. But just a little glimpse into the lives of zombie survivors, and at such a young age. The narrator must really be a little trooper. I applaude him/her.

Thanks, Karn! Glad it came across well. :)

I have my story ready to post - and thought I should look through those already there. Hmmmm... Is it a problem having the same title as another story (but with different a take on the theme/genre)? I like my title and wouldn't really want to change it but I will if I have to.

Either that or I might try for a second tale to give me a choice...

I don't see it as a problem, but then I am dangerously close in both title and theme to StillLearning's story that I can't really say otherwise.;)

Thing is I don't read any stories until I've got mine (which I why I often don't see any until the very end of the month) and once I've got mine to a point where I'm happy with it, I post before courage fails me! So, having gone back and had a proper read through I've realised what I've done - and I just hope that it doesn't count against me.

I am really impressed with the no of stories so far, and the very high quality of story-telling. Voting is going to be hard . . . .

Yeah, I don't think you got any moaning or groaning -- what's up with that?

I was unaware that griping about the challenge is required. Okay, this I can do. I hate the genre personally, too much like the movies/games that my brother likes. Which could be what went through my mind when I tried the challenge. Probably why people took me as morbid.:D

Well, we already have two 'til death' titles this month. I fancy we've had duplicate titles in other month's challenges too. So there's no rule saying you can't... (As long as it's not mine) ;):p

Karn review: TacticalLoco: Reads like a conspiracy theory, this one.

Ouch! On the other hand, since when has Capitalism not been a conspiracy?

Submitted my first entry. As the new guy, I'm feeling a little intimidated. Well, just hope it came out alright. I wrote the thing so quick.....

Welcome to the Chrons and the Challenges, Swamp Fox. It came out fine.:)

Stick around, though. We've got the 300 open for business in 6 days.

allmywires: And the streets ran red with blood. Vampire, I'm guessing? It almost has some kind of last stand feel to it, a situation that I've always been very fond of, but one I know is never practical and almost never works out the way one usually would want them to. What I'm wondering is, what was she and her lover hiding from?

That's an interesting interpretation, not what I had in mind while writing it but I did make it intentionally vague exactly for that reason :) thanks for the review.

Oops...should have paid more attention to other people's titles!
