I can't believe I had shamed the challenge by entering such a piece of bovine tripe.

You know you've had that coming for a while.

I had to edit so ruthlessly it was easily my worst entry.

Wonderful fun jokes aside. I see a valuable writing lesson here. Do not edit in order to please everybody. It cannot, should not, must not be done. Some people are going to throw the most wonderful stories to the ground and use them to wipe their feet and some people are going to take the most ridiculous nonsense and lift it up as the greatest words ever conceived by anyone. Balance, my friends. Balance.


If you want to be published, there's only one (or two) people that you have to please. 1. The editor at the publishing company and/or 2. The agent, if you plan on using one.

I think only mods are allowed to slap for self depreciation; after all, we wouldn't want massive violence, would we?

But Karn seems to require them relatively frequently, so perhaps an exception could be made in his case.

If ever, I've got a nice armoured gauntlet (for chain sawing), otherwise your hand stings for quite a while.

I thought a "slap," was the way the mods, a strange set of creatures from the planet Ibriano, would show their fondness of one of the native earthlings.

I've never had one.

I crave to be as popular as Karn.
