Oh man, we're already nearing the second page of "To the Stars" tales. Yipes!

I don't want to be influend by so many members with the gift of the writing craft. I've got a couple of ideas swimming in my mind.

I took a quick peek at the competition, and I'm relieved my stories are not similar.

Great entries.

To be honest, I haven't even began to try to come up with an idea just yet. It's not to say I won't, or that I can't, just...not in the mood yet. You will be seeing something this month though. Tomorrow, perhaps, if I'm up to it.

By the way, with the open genre and the theme, is anyone else thinking of David Bowie songs right now? :p Specifically, Star Man? (One of his best, in my opinion.)

Well, I figured I'd sign up and play. Guess I'm officially stuck in now. Interested to see where everyone else will take this.

That's a good idea, Karn. A bit late for me.

Welcome BigJ, event your little picture seems fitting for the October theme!

SciFrac: I loved the poem. It should be a solid contender.

Thought I may as well give it a go...might take a little look at the 300-er as well...

Absolutely swamped at the moment, so can't guarantee anything.

I'm going to try and do the comments but they might not be as considered or long as they normally are...

Trying to do five a (week) day seemed to work last month so I'm doing the same now.

What do you mean I've got to come up with a story as well????

Kylara – and we start with one that is so sad. You can almost see the poor little creature falling away from his fellows, lost lonely and afraid. Beautifully evocative and emotive and excellent first entry.

Springs – There seems to be a maudlin feel to the entries, admittedly after only two entries, but all the same. Another well crafted and tear inducing entry, what could touch the heartstrings more than the loss of a child?

Reiver33 – We really are twisting the emotions this month eh? The opening sequence is full of wonder and beauty but it is all a cruel façade, pulled away as we see he is standing in possibly the last place life can exist – and even that is diminishing. Excellent.

Ratsy – And now we have a separated family. The way it is told is just spectacular though, it really takes your breath away. There is so much depth and meaning in the last line that it is enough to take your breath away.

Bowler1 – A wonderful piece that is a clarion call to reach for the stars, littered with quotes and paraphrases that it is an extended bit of fun to spot and recognise every one; it gives the whole thing a recognisable quality, making 75 words epic.

As ever thank you for the review, PM.

If anyone is interested, just ask and I will share all the quotes after the voting has been completed, but only then. Most are very easy to find, except line three. But I suspect on Chrons, even that won’t pose much of a problem for the members here.

As ever, I’m looking at the entries posted in awe. The quality of the writing is always so high. You have a lot to answer for, PM, it was you who directed me to this section of the forum upon joining. I’m now a 75 word junkie in dire need of my monthly fix, you evil pusher you.

Thank you for the review Perp! I'm glad it came across so well...hopefully people will enjoy knowing a little more about Askatasuna...if you know who he is that is

Thanks for the review Perp. I just love doing these stories and I actually wrote 3 stories this month. 2 completely different fantasy ones and then this one came to me last. I am really surprised by the tone of everyone this month. With such an open challenge a lot of people seem to be taking the heavy path. Maybe we all got our funny out last month!

I thought there would be a halloween themed contest this month, but, we've got something unexpectedly better, MORE FREEDOM. Thanks Paranoid Marvin.
