Discussion Thread - SEVENTY-FIVE WORD WRITING CHALLENGE March 2013

Ratsy - An exorcism story, that's great! A man saves his wife from being possessed by a demon, that's love, that's great!

Thanks Starbeast, I got two "that's greats"! I did have to explain to my wife that it wasn't her and I...hahahahah

Bowler1 & Perp Man - you were discussing a familiar scenario back a little there!

(still can't convince the lovely Mrs. stormcrow to enter tho'!)

:D Allowing Mrs Perp to have a look at allows me to think about it, and maybe look at it from another angle.

I don't always follow on from that, but this month I could see what she was saying and the story I have put up is slightly different than the original version, but it is still a lot like it...

It's funny. I ask my wife to read my stories before submitting them, and I usually have 2 or 3 done for her to read. Sometime I go with her favorite and sometimes not, of course when I choose her favorite I have better reception from you guys...it must be a coincidence...right

I used to that, but just don't seem to have been coming up with multiple stories at the moment.

Not sure why but I miss it!

A pleasure SB.

Just PM your adress and I'll send the check.

Oh my, that's wild.

Mosaix - Nice update on a familiar fantasy story, colorful and fun. Nice work. Vertically challenged, that's funny.

Paranoid Marvin - Alright, a superhero poem! Excellently written, filled with cartoon and comic book creamy goodness, along with a cherry of a last line.

Dead Seed - Your story makes a great prologue for the beginning of a movie. You left me wanting more!

Johnnyjet - Whoa, America is now become Demonia. Now it's time for divine intervention by the way of division and holy warriors. I want to see this made into a movie!

Chrispenycate - A serious look into the mostly thankless world of superheros. A fantastic story, like a glimpse of reality of what life would be like for humans with super powers.

Stormcrow - You've created a very chilling and eerie tale that does haunt the human senses like a phantasm. I like it.

Starbeast - This world ain't what it seems, no jelly beans. She's pink, and white, a lovely furry sight. The way she talks, she walks...you're unbelievable. OH!

Glen - A fiendishly good story! Truely the devil only sugar coats the ugliness of reality, and gives you what you think you want. The last two lines really make this story, very intense!

Grizzgreen - Whoa, a tremendous story of biblical proportions! You took me by surprise (in a good way).

Nixie - A Preacher vs a Queen! I enjoyed how you portrayed both sides very well.

Barlennan - A war reenactment, this is awesome! I love this idea! Well done!

Perpetual Man - A superbeing story of a different kind, it's absolutley Marvel-ous! An incredibly powerful caped-wonder decides HE must take matters into his own hands, by taking charge of the world! This should be a graphic novel!

Thanks for the comments SB and Victoria.
Interesting that you should choose the term marvel-ous SB as I was thinking the comicbook opposite ;)

And the colour is fairly important, but in a different way Victoria. (It's one of two things that give the game away). I had hoped to use yellow as well but it was not showing up too well.

Meanwhile, you guys are the only ones who read my entries.

The rest of the family just isn't interested...

That's because we're all mad with dreams of publication....

And the 75 word competition becomes addicitive and we're all word junkies hanging around looking for our fix. :p

I showed my entry to Mrs Bowler this month and all I got was giggles and "you used muppet" before she went off again. I have no idea if that was good or bad. I did ask and all I got was "yes, dear" and "no, dear" - which is just annoying! Sometimes Karn, support is not all it's made out to be, so stick with us, we'll read your little gems. :D

I was thinking Superman has gone over the edge, but I thought using the word Marvel-ous was a good comic book reference. DC-licious, might not have sounded right.

There is a slight closeness to the Marvel Comic characer, Captain Marvel. Because he stood up against his own planet's government because of it's bureaucracy, and battled against them, then left his world. But unlike your antihero, he never killed innocent people.

It's a great story you've made, and worthy of making it into a gritty graphic novel.

Many thanks for the review, Starbeast.:)

You are very welcomed Talysia.

Nice acrostic, Perp.

And thanks for the reviews Victoria, Perp and Starbeast. :)

You're welcome David Evil Overlord. Keep up the good work.

I guess I fall into the same boat. I have only the SFFC members here to comment on my monthly entries. once in a while I have someone in my home, to say, "that's nice" and "very nice", which doesn't help me either.

And yes, I always look forward to the next story eagerly, after I post my current tale. That's why I asked if the 300 Challenge could be every other month, but sadly it can only be a quarterly event.

Thanks for the review Starbeast!

You're welcome Dead Seed.

Thanks for the nice review, Starbeast. A movie, huh? Hmmmm... Would need a catchier title, I guess.
