Discussion -- 300 Word Challenge #10

...having successfully projected his image into the challenge by summoning ghosts into the machine, stormcrows' avatar cawed triumphantly from above before realising he'd landed on the wrong aerial and had forgotten his keys anyway.

Okay, I'll ask.

What is it?

It's clearly art. If you don't have a scooby just what it is, then it's clever art, so it's artsy art. This is why I play with RAY GUN, RAY GUNS are always RAY GUNS, it’s never confusing. Keep the pointy end away from you and shoot, easy!

I’d like to give you more help, mate, I really would – but I want to win the competition, so you’re on your own.

If its artsy art then I think the artist should be reported for welding that poor crow to the end.

So I wrote something at midnight last night, scribbled down in my notepad as I was in bed (and have only just remembered now that I did this, that's how memorable the story is!!) but, it only just fills one page of quite small paper. I reckon it's only about 100 words. I know we don't have to post a full 300 words, but I feel I should take advantage of all of them... Still, got a day to think of more words.

"From small acorns great oaks grow."

You have loads of time, Mouse. It's also good to see you get your ideas just before you nod off, that's usually when I get my ideas as well. It can be very annoying if you can't remember the idea come morning!

I've got a line. Well, half a line. No plot or characters yet. Or anything else.

It'll be interesting to see how many people are inspired by the metal thingummy, and how many by the crow. (My half-line is in the crow camp.)

You can always add adverbs. Oh, and detailed descriptions....

:)

I'm in the same boat mouse, although I have a few more words, but somehow I changed my mind while I was writing, so the end is to a different story than the one I started with.

Both for me, the crow and the very odd metal thing. No sparks or anything for days and then the my muse kicked in.

Good luck with that half line - I'm sure it will grow into an acorn very soon.
I'm looking forward to seeing what gets posted, just what can a crow on a rusty bar inspire?

I have an idea but have not started writing it down yet. It is a weird idea so we shall see if It pans out

Yup. Then you think you're done, turn the light off and get comfy. Then have to turn the light back on two minutes later because you've thought of a way to make that sentence better.

Ha! You'll be lucky. I'm going to go for no description whatsoever this time.

I'm in the same boat mouse, although I have a few more words, but somehow I changed my mind while I was writing, so the end is to a different story than the one I started with.

I didn't even know what I was writing when I started! Just had a rhythm in my head, started writing, then figured I'd better add another sentence to the beginning to make it make some sort of vague sense...

Anyway, just typed it up and it was actually 110 words exactly. I've had a fiddle and added a few more so now it's 155. But that's including the title. Pah.

The muse struck and then promptly got a big eraser out and wiped the idea clean from my head.

There are others but they seem to be too obvious to use.

Okay, so this 10 day wait inspired me to actually look back at what I wrote on the 1st of July, and I admit that it is now improved. Maybe another 24 hours will improve it further.

I had an idea in my head, made about a dozen false starts, then went in a completely different direction. As usual, my contribution will not be particularly closely related to the exact details of the image.
