Good Challenge - interesting, thought-provoking and entertaining entries all round!

...and Starbeast...sorry 'bout that. I've taken a bath now!

Congratulations. Now put some clothes on Stormcrow. ;)

Many thanks Alchemist for the honourable mention and Starbeast for the runner-up - muchly appreciated.

Anyway Runners up, Finalists and *winner*.

A big welcome to you Boneman. And thanks for the listing (I'm among some very fine people on your list). You made my day.

Whoa! Alchemist, still holds the lead. Way ta go dude.

I'm really pressed for time. So

Really short list

Dusty Zebra
Miranomon
The Judge

Winner: Lenny!

Ooh, a finalist. Thanks, Boneman. :) I see Alchemist is still ahead. And he hasn't even had to twirl his pigtails. :( (He has lovely pigtails. Blond. With little curls. :D)

Only when I pretend to be a little girl so I can win Irish dancing competitions!

Me again. The photo challenge has had entries from a whole 20 (twenty) Chronners on the theme Your View. See them here and vote, please. It's a particularly good month.

Karn, Bigj, Aun and lenny sounds like a group of hardened NPC mercenaries. I think we should join up to form a special 'inklings' group!:D

What's that, Player_Name? You're heading into the wilderness of the Great Library? Alone?! Madness! You won't get ten steps before you're ripped apart by a pack of roaming Thesauruses, or bitten by the poisonous bookworm. Nah, what you want, is help. Tell you what, we've been there, done that, we're not afraid. For a small fee, you can hire us, B.A.L.K. Mercenaries Ltd., and on our honour as Inklings, we'll give you an 'and or die trying!

Thank you for the comments Parson (even if you did get that song stuck in my head for a couple of days!), Starbeast, and Victoria.

Thanks to Bowler, johnny, TDZ, and Starbeast for the mentions.

And huge thanks to jastius and Parson for the votes!

A simple shortlist and vote from me this month (in posting order):

Luiglin
BigJ
TacticalLoco
Culhwch

A great historic selection and written with some real verve. I loved the atmosphere that Juliana and Bowler1 created - both were haunting tales. Tisiphone's passionate story and The Judge's Titanic were both on my shortlist, as was Alchemist's brilliant and sorrowful story, which I am certain deserves to win overall. However the 2 which ate away at me for different reasons were Nixie's story of a Saxon victory at Hastings and Perp's tale of JFK. My vote goes to Perp, because apart from it being superbly written, I think it may be true!

As usual, a few I didn't understand, and a few more where I didn't think the listening aspect (as opposed to hearing, which is very different) was clear enough. But still plenty which only just missed out on my short list, which is:

Abernovo -- Hearts Desire
alchemist -- Searching
chrispenycate -- Unsound Foundations.
Glen -- Lost Time
Hex -- Christmas Eve, 1929
Juliana -- Required Reading
reiver33 -- On the Field

It was a toss up between alchemist's heartbreaking personal story and reiver's wonderful big history and fantasy mix, but in the end, and by the thinnest of hairs, I plumped for reiver.

Thanks for the mentions/shortlistings Juliana, pyan, Chris, Parson and Aun, and titanic thanks Perp for the vote, which is a great deal more than my effort deserved this month.

Less than two hours to go, so it's time for me to put the list in listening.
