Discussion thread -- seventy-five word challenge September 2013

Thank you Starbeast. I felt left out there for a while, stopping just before my 75 worder! Once I had my idea, well, the title just seemed to fit and pinching stuff like chocolate, titles etc. comes natural to me.

wow thanks for the review starbeast.. that made both me and my story sound very good!

re-read the entries last night and there seems to be a good spread of decent stories....

Thanks for the review, Starbeast. :)

Bowler1 & jastius - yes, me too! The extra stimulus is really valuable, and I also use these challenges to test ideas I'm working on.

And yes, my keyboard would have some kind of shock is , for example, springs took it over for a while...I type like a snail, without the goo!

yep stormcrow.. my little children's forest / tree piece is up over five thousand words now and growing out of its now short story form... its slowing down a bit because i can't decide how much of a hero the husband is going to be, beyond setting up the sting that nets the conspirators that are swiping the licences. woo hoo for challenges that net stories...

this one is killing me hex... i have seven kick butt ideas for it and can't figure out which to push and which to kill.. i usually only get this kind of headache from voting ...argh! its totally karma because i bugged out and posted early last month.

but i almost have it winnowed down.. (and hope your birthday was great stormcrow :) )

Well, thank you jastius (and you others)!!

I had a great day thanks - cake and good company throughout!

(and, "Seconded!" to that - viva the challenges!)

Tisi - nice to see you back!

Starbeast: I really appreciate your thoughts about my story. Thanks for your work.

You are immensely welcomed brother Parson.

You're welcome Mirannan.

Mmm chocolate. Huh, oh! Yeah, I kept getting called away, so I wasn't here on the SFFC as often as I like. Keep up the good work Bowler1.

You are very welcome Mr Orange. I agree, there are a good deal of excellent tales here, conceived with great imagination, and very cool variety.

Thanks for the great review, Starbeast (speaking as a reformed hippie-wannabe)!

You are exceedingly welomed. Keep the peace dude, and stay cool.

Thanks for the review Starbeast - Benny Hill show, LOL! I like that!

Nice to hear I made you laugh. Have a good day Aun Doorback.

thanks starbeast

You're welcome Nixie.

And thanks SB; sounds like you're a fan of The King!

I've been a fan of Elvis since I was a kid. Today, I like to sing some of his songs using a karaoke machine. And speaking of kings, you're welcome Poem Master Paranoid Marvin.

Thanks for the review, Starbeast. :)

You're welcome Abernovo.

Listening/Alternate History
(part five)

Tisiphone - Ah, another great story featuring St Joan. And in this offering, a good girl goes bad, very very bad. Plus she gets high praise by old scratch (and sniff), for going the extra mile at being extremely naughty.

Culhwch - It's WAR! A dinosaur war, that has those mighty beasts from the ancient past, here, battling each other in a military conflict. A very cool idea that grabs your attention with big claws, and bites hard with excellence.

Perpetual Man - The assassination of J.F.K. is showcased in this science fiction story of orchestrated death. Secretly, someone, or some group is trying desperately to alter the event. Creepy, yet a very thought-provoking tale.

Thanks for the review, Starbeast. I think this month has been the most challenging for me so far, presenting both a theme and a genre that just gave me nothing from the get-go. Usually even if one or the other is a bit left field for me, I can still twist any ideas I have into shape, but for whatever reason this time around I just struggled. Glad to get something in and keep the streak going!

Is this competition still going? My word but September is a slow month. Come on UK, catch up with Aus time so I can vote!

We can't close it down yet; we need another five entries;).

And I'm not sure the regular last minute set can deliver more than three.

We might actually fail to achieve the answer to life, the universe and everything.
