What are you working on right now?

Trying to bash the ending of my YA into some sort of shape. It will need horrific amounts of editing and lots of bits added later on, but at this point I'm on a self-imposed deadline and I have just under two weeks to get the first draft finished before the December steamroller moves in.

Then in the drawer it goes until January. :D

Revising The White Shamitz, the third in my sci-fi series. Starting to flesh out two more unrelated sci-fi novels that have been languishing. Trying to convince myself to seriously revise Nemesis, which I wanted to get out this year but now almost certainly won't make.

Currently working on my second book to my Sci Fi, Action Adventure series. Only about 1/3 of the way there. There just isn't enough time sometimes in the day for me to really sit down and write . . . (*realizes by making this post with very apparent contradiction now leaves little to be used for an excuse as to why any writing is not being done*) . . . *goes and writes*

Nothing. Wriggles toes.

Although my nothing has been a readthrough and edit of 50000 words of 80000 in four days... It still feels atrociously lazy. And reminds me I utterly love Abendau. Utterly.

Trying to polish off a festive (very) short story. I have decided against beheading Santa.

Cracked the 16k mark on one of my WIPs (shouldn't that be WsIP?) today. Think I might be trying to make a novel out of a short story. Just not sure how to proceed with it, or even if. Some decent writing here and there and I don't want it to go to waste.

Just finished the first draft of the first novel. Beta's will get it monday.
So for the next month I will be working on a my sci-fi horror, tentatively ( and not really happily) titled Relic.

After a few days dicking about considering whether or not to murder Santa, the more serious (and trickier) business of making final complicated changes to Kingdom Asunder. Probably got a few short scenes to add, but it's the small multi-chapter changes (usually for continuity) which are trickier. And then I'll try and recruit some victims, ahem, beta readers for the new year.

Ha, wait for the thread :p

[To clarify, that'd be betas for the 'serious' story, which is taking much longer than expected. Not Sir Edric. Well, not for a little while at least. I want to try and write a long third Adventure for him (maybe 80-100k rather than the 40k or so of the first two. Not sure how easy/hard that'll be].

I got to the end of my readthrough of book 3 of Abendau. Mostly, I'm happy with it and the main character arc seems complete, but there is room for some depth in some of the secondary lines and some exploration of the wider world. So i'm going to get in a couple of new scenes and deepen some I have. The word count is only 80k which is shorter than the first two, so I have room to add. :)

Heart Blade has now officially been set aside until the holidays are over and my houseguests leave in January, so technically I'm not working on anything. Which of course means I spent an hour yesterday playing with world building for a scifi/fantasy thing I have in mind. :p

First draft was mailed out to beta's today so wont be looking at/thinking about that until january.
Now to get on with the novella and the SS5 I need to do!

At the risk of repeating ourselves... how are we <cough> you <cough> getting on with the Rendlesham Forest-y one? (in the absence of a name from you, it shall forever be termed this in my mind).

I am struggling with scene 4 of Wheezer. I just want to rush to the bit where the TV crew break into the room they've been forbidden from entering; who knew ebola could be so much fun!? *

Um.... Oooooh, loook, butterflies. Pretty.... And distracting.

It's having a thinking and considering hiatus. Honest. Just, um, that the thinking hasn't worked and the considering is mostly considering cake in the hope of enlightenment.

It'll come. Evemtually.... ;)
