What are you working on right now?

Best of luck, Anya.

"A point of View", R4 can be interesting Monologue. I usually listen, or if I miss it, or lose thread, I read the transcript from Magazine section (bbc.com and bbc.co.uk thankfully).

Hi,

68K into Mage, the sequel to Maverick, and pulling my hair out in clumps. The continuity problems with returning to a sequel four years and twelve novels after the first book was done and forgotten, are endless. Today I had to go through every reference to fairy (a minor race) in the original book to build a comprehensive picture of them, just so I could write three paragraphs about them.

Is it too late to become an alcoholic?

Cheers, Greg.

Ha, I know what you mean about continuity. Trying to get Kingdom Asunder into decent enough shape to be viewed by other members of the human race. Most of the way there, now.

126k into the first draft of what I suspect will be Volume 1 of my epic fantasy WIP. Wondering how I am ever going to bring this story in to land in a way that is reasonably satisfying for the reader, whilst at the same time leaving further development and resolution of the story to Volumes 2 and 3 (please God no more!).

About 16K words (3 days ) into Raemaren and Juili, first Draft, 4th book in the "Talent" storyverse since beginning of June. A standalone story. Juili is MC as teen, who is incidental mature adult in 1st book in this series I wrote, she calls herself a human. But actually EVERYONE in this story is an Alien.

The story is progressing too quickly!

I am working on a script/book called A Bigger Smaller World - Overpopuous(Overpop for short), and another series called the O Series of Books. I switch between the two so I don'y feel burnt out for looking at one thing too long. I also have a lot on the backburner, as I keep getting ideas. If I only had enough time to do everything...

I've finally made some time to work on my WIP and it's been awesome getting back into it! I feel like it's much easier to write after thinking about it in my head for the past few months....at least I have the plot points for the next while up there somewhere

Finished the third draft of my story. Its 86550 words, I deliberately kept it short because I believe in 'short but sweet' and I know a lot of readers (myself included) hesitate to read a super-long book by a new author. Its crammed full of details though, I focused on the characters and philosophical details more than the plot.

Now at 18,500 approx words and reading on Kindle. Doubts that it will be more than 50K. But maybe that might be OK for YA. Perhaps short is better than "padded"?

Best of luck, Anya.

Good luck, Anya*

*Monologues are usually reserved for super villains, not the BBC...oh, wait...:D

Thanks these are for the writersroom website -- I think. Monologues I can write - they like them but they're not funny enough and need editing further.

Trying to write short stories that I owe for things but it's such a struggle at the mo. I'm going to blame Christmas.

SS5? Super Sexy, a series of anthologies dedicated to space pilots and their antics in the cockpit?

Forgot until yesterday about the Kraxon eclipse story. And forgot I'd come up with a storyline. Which was a nice surprise, at least. Going to try and get that more or less sorted in the next few days, then I need to do the same for the first chapter of Kingdom Asunder (after which I think it'll be pretty much ready to be filleted by beta readers).
