What are you working on right now?

I'm working on chapter 35, as I ever have, and ever shall be: yea, even unto the ending of the world.

Othin spake:

[22] "Next answer me well, if thy wisdom avails,
And thou knowest it, Vafthruthnir, now:
When shall men hear, as long they have wished,
The work Chapter 36?"

Vafthruthnir spake:

[23] "Harebrain is he who begat Chapter 36,
But not for this world the tale;
When Vidar feasts in golden roofed Gimle,
Then shall the tale be told."

I'm almost done with the editing on 'Hawk-Eye' now, the book that should never have been written. It was just so much fun to write that I'm already thinking about sequels for it. I've got a travel-book to edit next, a much larger job and then I'm turning my attention to another new project. This time a proper sci-fi.

Crossed the 70,000 word mark on my WIP today. Was expecting the entire first draft to be that much, but I still have at least 4 more chapters to write, and missing scenes to fill in. Will aim to keep the finished manuscript under 100k when all is done and dusted. First rewrite won't happen until sometime next year.

I'm trying to figure out how to have the energy to write anything with a one-month old around. Hope I figure it out... Stalled at 70k in my WiP (50% mark).

I'll see your one month and raise you a 5 month old.

I spoke to my partner in crime, discussed ideas for what was going to be next. I just finished a weird (and silly) 80s retro post-futurist story with high speed motorcycles and fingers being cut off with garden tools. He said he wanted more of that. I loved writing it, it was the most fun I've had telling a story. I sat with a coffee and thought, yeah, I can do that. I have a plot with techno-zombies and man-eating computers almost ready to go. Also with high speed motorcycles and garden tools. All good books have high speed motorcycles and garden tools, right?

New here...howdy.

I'm working on a collection of short stories involving love and the horror that could surround the emotion. I have a couple stories under my belt that I will post here when I'm allowed.

Welcome.

I am working on exciting things. Really, really exciting things. That I can't talk about, darn it. That kills me.

Did I say they were exciting? :D

Yup, same here.

I just realized that a few of my stories won't fit into the straight forward Sci-Fi genre. What all does "fantasy" entail? Specifically with this site.

Ok. Thanks.

If a story had a bit of violence of explicit talk of some type, can it be blacked out, or just how sensitive are the moderators around here?

The odd swear word here and there if starred/blanked out usually goes under the radar. But remember this is a family friendly site, so anything too much (violence, sex, language) and you might get some attention.
If you have concerns, best bet would be to pm a mod first and find out directly.

Welcome, by the way :)

I'll make sure to ask someone before I post the one story I'm talking about.

Two novellas I am excited to be working on:

A Reaper's Seed

Reapers, Dagmar & Elita hunt for the source of the 'Old Breed', whilst being hunted themselves. A story exploring the stages of grief, loss and twisted truths.

Paraselenae

The story of Coro, a "Flame hound" trained to find explosives buried in trenches. He is taken to war in Al-Lannae, and takes fearless young Pup Ramman under his guidance with dangerous consequences. A story about how war can both strengthen and strain the bonds of friendship.

I am working (slowly) on two fantasy novels.

One is called A Cautionary Tale About Dragons and the other is called (working title) Of Wizards, Kings and Evil Things. I am further along with Tale about Dragons. I really do need to stop dragging my feet and do some more writing on it.

Love those titles. Just thought you should know. :D
