What are you working on right now?

Finished my Sekrit Santa story...it was really fun and I am thinking of expanding on it.

But I want to get back to my Aliens story for Gary and am putting the Magic, Metal and Steam one in the cross-hairs too.

Other than that...nothing at the moment

I've gone back to working on my Allery story. Which I kinda don't look forward to, even though I know I want certain scenes in the future, which I will look forwards to. But I have a new POV character and I am enjoying him cos he's an arse.

Still trying to work on the Allery WiP, though it's going veeeeery slowly. Added just over 300 words today. I keep getting ideas for other stuff, but know I'm terrible at working on more than one novel length thing at a time, so keep telling myself to work on Allery instead.

Also trying, and failing, to finish stories for a commission. Also supposed to be beta-ing.

I'm working on a load of short stories. Novel is on hold again.

Currently researching kleptomaniacs.

Let me steal that idea... :p

I've just finished the revisions of a novel and let it sit for the best part of a week while I got the first 20k of another one tidied up enough for eyes to view it (but think there are typos, sorry guys, my spell check is playing up and needs the odd kick). I'm reviewing another full mss on the ipad in the evenings/between meetings and have about another 20 k to look over. And tomorrow I'm back to the one with the revisions to read the new scenes, kick the spell check and format before sending. I have two others waiting in the wings demanding attention and one to finish the proper first draft off for the betas with the 20k to look at. I need a little flag for the teaboy to deliver sustenance as required. ;)
Plus, I subbed a short.

I've spent three weeks trying to get the last 'stuff happens' chapter working.

Admittedly, a lot of those three weeks have been spent THINKING about it rather than doing it, but I think it finally works. It's just ragged as hell at the moment. I also think I'm overthinking it and it's not nearly as bad as I think it is ;P

Just need to get on with doing the final 'wrap-up' stuff now, then can get on with the editing and tidying up.

The problem is... work... stupid bloody work. It's very much sucking up all my time at the moment... ho hum.

i'm currently cutting and carving my cumbersome first novel to split it from one 200 000 word behemoth into a trilogy. luckily the original was already split into three "parts" so it hasn't been too painful

edit: and just remembered, still need to finish off the final drafts for two of mr compton's anthologies

I've got a few projects on the go at the moment:

1. After a very rough first draft and spending a lot of time pulling my hair out, I've sat down to write a very intensive outline before I embark on the second draft of the first book of my YA fantasy trilogy. This *should* keep me on track.

2. I'm about to edit a (sorta-kinda) literary novella I managed to write during NaNoWriMo this year just gone.

3. I'm about a third of the way through a novel about conjoined twins.

Well, I just started some more focused work on a younger read called "Mulgrin's Quest". I'm also deciding whether or not to do a project I had in mind for my 'blog'... which means I've already put in a full day's work on it and am now wondering if it is worth pursuing it to the end or if I ought to quit before I put months into it! lol.

Sounds like people are working on some pretty cool ideas! :)

Sold Oracle to Tickety Boo Press Ltd | Quality books. Quality anthologies. Quality authors. and am waiting to start the edits.

WIP previously mentioned read through and being thought on.

A fantasy novel, previously shelved after about 20,000 words written has had a shake down and re-look at. AS have a couple more ideas.

Nothing written for a couple of weeks.

I need to write a couple of short stories, else I am going to miss the submission dates.

I am working on YA historical crime thingummy. At present I am trying to prevent my seventeen year old detective from falling in love with the Inspector. It is a fun twist but I am concerned about the age gap. Trouble is Cece and Freddie have chemistry.

I'm working! :D Finally!

I'm even working on what I should be working on, which is getting to know the main characters in my new fantasy project. I'm making them tell me the plot, as I can't seem to do any plotting and planning and character building the "normal" way. If there even is such a thing.

Now I just hope I will be able to stick to it and get a first draft out in April - Camp NaNoWriMo will hopefully help keep me focused.

At the moment I'm working on a scheme to assassinate The Dali Lamma, Captain Picard, Ameila Earhart and put them in my freezer. And I might paint the kitchen green.

What I'm mostly doing is mood pieces. They're short snippets of character interaction for the story I'm going to write. Most of them are little moments, and I'm not necessarily planning to include all of them in the final story. The main purpose of them is to allow me to get an handle on how the character interact, talk, bounce off each other and express themselves with the pressure of advancing the plot distracting me.

I'm also researching cultural development and the evolution of various religons to gain insight on how they inform the outlook of their worshipers. The politics and religons of my characters will play a big part in their development, so knowing my facts is going to be vital.

That sounds like a good idea.

OK Cece now has a very shy suitor, a jeweller called Joseph. Poor man is terrified of her but is smitten. And Freddie is newly widowed. That should keep them apart this story at least.

Hi there.

I'm currently trying my hand at fantasy novel. If I should happen to talk about it, I'll call it "Banasuni". The basic idea is "barbarians against philosophers". The barbarians are the "good guys", of course. At the moment its going rather slowly.
