What are you working on right now?

Finishing up book three of the Thumar series. Should finish out at a hair over 1,000 pages. Just about at final edit time for book one. Pushing out some short stories at the same time. Not giving up on getting published, self or otherwise. More than a few money curve balls thrown my way lately. Just a few speed bumps.

The ' thing is a Us/UK thing, nothing more.
Ah, I thought it was that (though I can't remember which is which). Confused me as a kid that some books used double quotes and others single, but I think single quotes are more common these days (so probably American).
been using double quotes for dialogue for years
I started out using double quotes, but switched to single quotes later - as Jo said though, I think agents/publishers are fine as long as you're consistent with one or t' other, and there are plenty of novels published with both.
I use double quotes (did NI schools teach them?)
Don't know about NI, but I was taught doubles at school:)
I will press on until I become insane
Don't let that stop you. I'm still going:D

I crossed the 20,000 word threshold this morning on my second novel, THE DRAGON MISTRESS (working title). I actually expected the story to be a little further along at this point than it is, so it looks like this could turn out to be longer than THE CURSED MAN. I still make sure I keep it under 120,000 at the most, though.

I'm hoping I'll have the rough draft complete by Christmas. Rewrites will commence in 2017.

To read more gems like "I have the combat prowess of a drunk in a cat flap" and "Archaeology involves quite a lot of murdering. Apparently." do read my review of Rise of the Tomb Raider. It's got pictures and everything:
Thaddeus the Sixth: Review: Rise of the Tomb Raider (20th Anniversary Edition) - PS4

Been a bit lax on the old blogging front, but I've also just finished Thucydides' history, so that should be next week's thingummyjig and then there are exciting things on the horizon shortly thereafter.

Edited extra bit: bugger. Posted this in the wrong thread. Ahem. Sorry. You're still allowed to click the link, though.

Congratulations!

Beta feedback is rolling in for my novel, so working on that as I get stretched for NaNo writing book two. Should be fun...

At the moment (when not doing some PR stuff for Kingdom Asunder) I'm writing a chapter for the third book in that trilogy, after which I'll try finishing off the first draft of Sir Edric and the Plague, following which I'll be splitting my time between making the paperback version of KA, finishing the third trilogy book first draft, completing the second trilogy book beta reader redraft, editing Black Sails (Journeys story), redrafting Plague, writing short stories for a few more anthologies and trying to find the time to write shorts for Kraxon again.

.....

Goodness knows what I'm going to do in the afternoon.
