Discussion thread -- SEVENTY-FIVE WORD WRITING CHALLENGE May 2014

I hope this turns out to be a fun genre/theme combo this month! And here is a note to one certain member (copied & modified from my post at the April thread...seems more appropriate here...)

To Bowler--time for joyous celebration! You will be able to use ray guns if you so choose, in the genre I have picked!!
And to everyone else...apologies!! Bowler will be able to use ray guns, if he so chooses, in the genre I have picked!!! RUN!!! :) CC

ps to springs---toasted marshmallows--à la Ghostbusters--can be very effective agents of alien invasion!! :)

It's just as well you're in Finland: there's bound to be a law against inciting the use of ray guns here in the UK.

This one had my name all over it, and hey, I'm in first. Technically, no RAY GUNS were used in the making of this 75 word post, but like a good food warning (may contain nuts), it may contain RAY GUNS.

Why would you want a law against RAY GUNS??? ;)

These days, you could get kicked out of school in the US for even mentioning a RAY GUN, whether it's presidential or weaponry.


I just want to take this opportunity to point out, in case of any disgruntlement about the theme, that I gave the choice over entirely to CC, and therefore,

IT'S NOT MY FAULT!

:D


But if you like it, well, of course it was entirely due to my discerning judgment in bestowing the choice upon my esteemed partner, CC.
 
I like the theme! Good job C.C. --- Bowler that ending left me shaking my head in bemusement. To say I never saw that coming would be as true a statement as a human can make. :cool:

It's got a punchline ok, maybe not to everyone's taste, but if I worried about good taste I'd never write a word!
 
Already, CC?

Well, you've certainly broken the stereotype of the Challenge winner -- generally, the person who picks the theme spends the entire month dithering about for a story to write and then posts something that doesn't get any votes at all! (Or at least it feels that way.)

I guess it's up to me to uphold the standards, then. :D
