Thanks Kerrybuchanan. I've been unable to post for a while, hoping to participate more now.

Some great entries already, should be a good month.
 
Well I'm in.
I'm not sure I've entirely got the hang of this one.
 
Ashleyne. B. Watts -- The author creates a vivid character with whom we can empathize.

Harpo -- The telegraphic style of this tale suits it darkly humorous tone.

Kerrybuchanan -- This terrifying story startles the reader in an unexpected way.

Teresa Edgerton -- By turning a famous tale on its head, the author reminds us not to judge a book by its cover.

springs -- This poetic allegory of nature is full of richly felt emotions.

Mr Orange -- The author's use of mock nursery rhymes adds to the black comedy of this twisted tale.

Cat's Cradle -- With remarkable imagination, the author takes us far away to strange lands.

Juliana -- This moving story reminds us that the greatest courage may be the strength to say "no."

willwallace -- The author presents an unusual character study in the form of a suspenseful prequel.

alchemist -- Through the use of informal narration, the author paints a believable portrait of cynicism.

Ahh yes, the Pig-catching MacGuffin. Always good to know people in high places. :D

chrispenycate -- A touch of wordplay and a vivid imagination combine to present an ancient fable in modern terms.
