Mel, is a bought up slave, who was probably talented in magic, and saw prob. more visions than others. Only she's prob. not so good at at reading them, understanding them. Nor does she seem to understand the true meaning behind her faith religious words. Only going skin deep.
The fact that she was a slave, is important cause it shows she was later indoctrinated by the faith + it gives her a sense of ambition. Wanting to rise above her meagre beings thus wanting to prove herself, that what she sees is real.
My current take on her. I'll prob. change my mind about her , when next i reflect on her.
