5.10 Mother's Mercy

Gendry Waters and Edric Storm. Sansa Stark and Jeyne Poole. The Tyrell brothers. Jorah Mormont and Griff. Styr and Tormund. Meryn Trant and Raff the Sweetling and Dareon. Jaqen and the kindly old man and the waif. Rast and Chett. Ellaria Sand and Arianne Martell. Jaime and Arys Oakheart. Steelshanks Walton and Vargo Hoat became someone named Locke

That's tremendously incisive.

My take was that Miranda (I think that's her name?) was talking about taking pieces of Sansa until there was nothing of her left but a broken shell, and I guess that snapped Reek back into being Theon - a simultaneous protective instinct to prevent the same happening to Sansa, and a determination to show that for all Ramsey's efforts, there was still a shred of Theon left in Reek.

The most horrible possible outcome here is that Sansa and Reek get away clean, go riding off in the forest and then arrive at a dinner hosted by Reese Bolton, courtesy of Reek's guidance. It would probably make me stop watching as the whole thing has been rather abruptly swinging into radical grimdark territory, but it is just the type of plot twist that most satisfies Martin's cruel but brilliant soul. I truly hope not though.

They've already done that when Theon 'escaped' previously. To do it again would be unnecessary and annoying.

I was so shocked by the finale of games of thrones season 5, before watching the final episode I already knew about Jon Snows stabbing and Cersei's walk of shame because of Facebook's little trending section, but they still shocked me even though I knew they were coming.

I have the feeling though that the walk of shame is going to send Cersei right over the edge and she is going to become much worst in season 6 and no one is going to be safe fro Cersei's wrath. As for Jon Snows death personally I don't think he is dead because GRRM and the directors has put so much focus and development onto the character, that it seems he is going to be bigger than the Wall and Castle Black, just to kill him off like they have done (being stabs by the Watchmen).

I do think Theon and Sansa will survive the jump for one main reason, They have grown up in Winterfell, so know how deep the snow can get and the places the snow would be the softest or the hardest and usually the snow pressed up against walls are usually the softest as the snow is untouched.

Yes, I agree that's the direction they will take, and it will likely be her undoing. They will have to take her down to protect the people, but she will have to make a few heads roll first, starting with the Faith Militant. I don't know if she will be able to get away with killing the High Sparrow.

He's definitely dead, but you're right that his character is critical to the story. It's a matter of whether he stays dead or not. They've already introduced the concept of being able to bring people back from the dead in the show, so it's not unexpected.

That's exactly right. Theon mentions as much in the book. The show just can't portray inner thoughts of characters so TV watchers missed out on that element.

I agree Jon Snow is definitely dead, but because they left it as a cliffhanger rather than having his death at an earlier point has given a big to me that they are going to be working towards something big and we know that there is definitely two other characters may be able to bring him back.

Plus also we know that the Stark children have the potential to warg and we don't know where Ghost is at the moment as we didn't see him at the end and it wasn't shown is the other Watchmen have him locked up and killing him like they did with Robb Stark and Grey Wind.

One of whom just happened to turn up at a convenient moment.

That too, which I think is the more likely scenario.

In the very first episode, Lena Heady did not show any nudity for her sex scene... in fact, I don't remember any nudity from her. And then she went all out for this episode... and I was stunned. HBO is renowned for it's consistent abuse of gratuitous sex and excessive titillation, but this was not that. Lena Heady chose to do full nudity in the most non flattering manner. As an actress, she really went for the moment to fully reveal Cersei and I don't mean skin.
Apparently she has a lot of tattoos and it was a body double. Edit: Oh this was already mentioned.

Reberg makes a good point on what happened to the Dothraki with Dany. There were some key Dothraki still with Dany and in the book they are still around as I recall. In the series they seem to have melted away.
