The theme and Genre are up and we are rolling with the new and exciting Anonymous Challenge.

I am confident that this will be the most anonymous, challenging and 100 word, challenge I've ever hosted, so lets get those PM's rolling in.

Here is the thread, but of course

don't post: pm

Nicely done, Cascade, on the challenge threads! I cannot remember which of our co-winners from June was to choose the next challenge's genre/theme pairing, but nicely done, as well, to the chooser! I can't remember this genre being picked before, and I'm very excited to attempt a story within its expansive confines. Looking forward to reading the entries! CC

And...

We are away.

Our first story up and can I say being one of only two people who know the Author is quite exciting.

I should probably have mentioned that our theme and Genre were a joint venture this month. Mosaix and I agreed a theme between us, but no doubt having having become jaded with choosing Genre from the many, many, times won previously, Mosaix allowed me the honor of coming up with that.

We have been going less than 12 hours and already have our second fantastic story. (y)

Great work anonymous Chronners.

Bumping the thread (forgive me mods, if that's not cool). I'm a little worried that the Anonymous Challenge for August is being missed by our regular crew of talented writers; it's amost 24 hours w/o a comment. There's a really fun genre/theme pairing, and we have three really nice stories entered so far. Maybe it's slow here because it's mid-week, and it's mid-summer. But come on, gang, let's liven up the old Challenge! :)

Some of my favorite are ones written for children. I'm interested to see what people'll have to offer. I may even enter myself, at some point.

I really don't know what CC is worried about we have doubled the number of stories in the last 12 hours. At this rate we will have 4096 wonderful stories by the close of the challenge, and I will be an expert at counting to 100.

Just so people know. I am in Australia, so any apparent lapse in my hosting is merely the tyranny of time zones.:)

Five stories in.

I know that the guessing is only a small part of the deal, but seeing things from this side really is very interesting. I don't think it is giving too much away to say that had I not been hosting, I don't think I would have picked any of the authors who have entered so far.

Really good stories so far! Nice advert too, btw, Cascade (over at the 75 worder)! :)

And more stories coming in.

We are of course allowed to discuss the stories in this thread (hence the name) and within that context, It is interesting that Parson in the 75 worder had expressed some reservations about how some of the stories in that challenge met the genre. Reading through the stories posted here so far I think every one of them has hit the genre really nicely, but some of them are more obviously on the theme of dilemma than others

I am reading them in awe of the quality. Of course, that could be a red herring and I might have written the best of them...
In fact. the more I think about it, the more certain I am that I wrote the winning story. It might not be up there yet - or it might be - but it's definitely the winner. :D

Similarly I'm awful at writing child's fiction or could be that I'm better than my adult work.

That's if I've entered. I may not have done. I could be Cascade's red herring of the month.

I'm not a cat person.

So I really don't know whether I am more excited about getting our next great Anonymous story or our second in which a cat gets their comeuppance.

(sorry CC)

No worries, Cascade! I've matured enough throughout this life to learn to be accepting of the fact that not everyone loves cats as much as my wife and I do (though, in truth, it still baffles me just a bit). :) Great new stories! I've two favorites so far; and as a side note, I do hope that Snowball will be okay...? CC

Such great stories.. Really fun to read. :)

Shame I won't be entering myself as I would fail miserably with the theme and genre and really let the side down :(

Good luck to everyone who has entered thus far, cant wait for more great stories to pop up so I can have a nosey at 'em :D

I have definitely entered this contest. I hate all the stories so far. I think Trump is the best candidate for the U.S. presidency. I am actually illiterate, and these letters are just spontaneously arranging themselves into words without my consent. I ate a grasshopper once, willingly. I think Norway is overrated. Mops and lollipops were invented by the Spanish because they like to put sticks on everything. I AM what Willis was talkin' 'bout.

Some of these statements are lies (this statement included, or not. This is lie. As is this).
