Well, I thought so, too, but an editor acquaintance of mine said it's too feminine. Here in Ireland, female Kerrys (Kerries?) are two-a-penny, and male ones are like hen's teeth.

Actually here in Midwest Ireland rare, but VERY common Irish-American Girl's name. I've never known an Irish person called Kerry, North or South, apart from yourself.

I know several female Kerrys, all from up this neck of the woods. Don't know any male Kerrys, though.

Maybe it's a newer thing, due to US influence/TV etc. It's 32 years ago I left, I never even HEARD of a Kerry except the county back then. I never ever heard of a male Kerry anywhere except as surname.

I'm over fifty and I know three, off the top of my head, all my age or older. All female, all Northern Irish (unlike me - born and named in Yorkshire, where there were 2 others in my year at school). You mustn't have got out much when you lived up here, Ray!

I think male Kerry seems to be not unknown in Australia. Wasn't there an Aussie cricketer of that name years ago?

Another girl in my class at school was Ceri, which I think is Welsh, a diminutive of Ceridwen. Pronounced the same way as my name though.

And Serendipity, I noticed in the earlier post, but didn't want to be the first to mention it! Couldn't keep my mouth shut the second time, though.
