Definitely the left. As a composition, it's always much better to have a significant element in the picture going off the edge, either the station or the sun. (I can't remember the technical explanation.)

The sun looks very slightly stretched -- wider than it is tall.

Well spotted HB. I hadn't noticed that - fixed it.

The spacing and size on Ralph's name is the same so not sure what you are seeing Ray (should've gone to Specsavers :) )

I love the space station.
I think Ray's right that it being a bit out of the frame is a good move though, and I like the spacing of the one on the left better generally.
On the other hand the taller EREBUS is more striking on the right.
What would happen if you took the EREBUS from the right hand one and put it in the one on the left?

For the record, I love this cover. Gary knows how picky I am and we worked hard to source the right elements for it.

To give the people who have read Endeavour and the beta for Erebus an idea of what we were looking at and what the individual components are supposed to be:

The cloudy planet at the bottom of the image is Jupiter.

The moon in the background is Io (which has been destroyed in an apparent terrorist attack)

The space station is Concorde (The home of 'The Linked')

It is more of a chase story than the scientific exploration Endeavour was. I wouldn't go out and out and say it's a dark story, but it definitely combines thriller elements with hard science fiction, ancient mysteries and interesting real interstellar phenomena - the things which would appeal to readers of the first one.

So Teresa is working with P J Strebor editing his debut novel.

I have been working on the cover. Any comments appreciated especially if you praise ME!

The author is a Chronner but wishes to remain incognito. Not sure how long it will last :)

So do we start a guessing thread on the alias now? My only comment on that cover is the font seems a little comic-y. Just my opinion. I do like the color on it. You are getting quite good at this cover thing Gary!

This was written prior to the 1500 cap also so it's a bit lengthy.

The cover looks nice and dynamic. No complaints here, except a niggle that perhaps the fonts might benefit from further attention - else you move the book title to the top of the image so that the different fonts don't feel like they clash.

2c.

Cheers guys will look at that. The fonts are the same Brian but author name has been stretched so they do look different. I will explore an answer to that as well.

I like it.

Two observations for me. If you did keep the title and authors name together they look a little jammed in. Maybe reduce the size very slightly to give a little space between the two,

Secondly, the 'seat' of the explosion on the centre ship is some distance away from the beam. Can you bring those in line with each other? (more the attacking ship a little to the right or the explosion a little to the left) Not a huge problem, but I think it would be subtly more dramatic.
