Discussion thread -- September 2015 75-word Writing Challenge

I do have a word conundrum though, so ill just throw it out here instead of bugging a mod directly... Im pretty sure they are fine, but are computer acronyms counted a single word; OS, RAM and DOS for example? :)

I don't think we need to throw this one onto the staff dartboard -- acronyms have generally been counted as single words. :)

I think I might be getting in over my head, since I only joined this forum today, but I may have a viable idea for this challenge. Maybe even two, although given the definition of cyberpunk being about a degredation of society, the second might not fit... although now it occurs to me that it could, depending on the perspective I use.

I really like making things harder than they need to be.

Welcome to the Chrons Saharren (I've even given you a like).

There is no such thing as getting in over your head around here, just jump right (or write) in and have fun.

Item: HazelRah: This tale of star-crossed lovers carries a touch of irony in its structure.

Item: Venusian Broon: Making use of provocative new discoveries in the human brain, this story builds to a powerful conclusion.

Item: Juliana: Like a myth of the future, this evocative tale makes use of subtle poetry to weave its spell.

Item: johnnyjet: The author creates an unusual and memorable character in this in this fast-paced story.

Item: LittleStar: Unique and vivid images fill this heartfelt story of courage and temptation.

Item: Mad Alice: This hard-hitting story of mistake and repentance balances intimate emotion and a vast scale.

Item: Saharren: With great skill the author creates a memorable antihero in this suspenseful tale.

Well, I posted up my story. Now to shoo the butterflies out of my stomach. And thank you for the welcome. I also want to thank Kerrybuchanan for his welcome on the Why did you start writing thread, but I didn't feel it was appropriate to hijack that thread for a post like that.

Thank you for the review, Victoria!
When I looked up cyber-punk it was described as a dystopian cyber- apocalypse future and that the protagonist generally has a bad fate. That had me rubbing my hands in glee but it was a bit too inspiring. (I had to chop out a thousand words or so) :D

Thank you for the review, Victoria. I realized earlier today that the details I put in there could be taken in different ways, which inevitably lead to branching storylines. Odd how you can get new story ideas from your own writing by just looking at it from a new angle.

While we are at it, talking about people not writing stories...don't forget to come by the 100 word challenge thread in the Workshop, where I'm hosting a quiet little event this month. There is even a prize this month over there so come on in and say hi!

This has nothing to do with me trying to bribe my way to getting the most entries in the anonymous challenge ever, so stop looking at me like that

And when people haven't sent me stories by the 18th, I will be single handedly harassing each of you via PM until you break and send me stories!!!

Cake and fizzy wine anyone?

Ratsy,

If we’re already in, can we pretend that we haven’t submitted anything yet, so we can have cake and fizzy wine.

Other the other hand, if we’re not already in, can we pretend that we have submitted something already, so we can ask silly questions?

Put simply, I want cake and fizzy wine but I'm not saying whether I’m in or not yet?
