Discussion thread -- November 2015 75-word Writing Challenge

Breakfast: Snap and crackle refuse to confirm that they killed pop.

Tony the Tiger has been charged with Pop's disappearance and has pointed a claw at the remaining Krispy brothers - 'They're ll-yy-iinngg.'

The Krispy brothers maintain they're innocence with - 'Snap! Crackle! Who?

Buzz the Honeynut Cherrio bee has been called to testify, but his whereabouts are currently unknown and Lucky (of Lucky Charms fame) isn't telling what he knows.

A rabbit has been quoted saying "tricks are for kids" but authorities have yet to decode this obvious cypher.

Captain Crunch is on the case. His cocos are puffed.
Rumour states that the Pebbles are just a little bit fruity (if you know what I mean) but the fruits are clearly loopy.

Honeycomb home. That whole thing was just a bunch of Oats. I'm so Sorry.

You know that I think that you're magically delicious.

SB – lost in the rat race, the deception of a happy working life revealed by a head on a pla.. well in a box actually.

JohnnyJet - A fork in the path can lead to many decision, wrong and right; even the best plans are fallible.

Farntfar – A warning, perhaps to all those swine that ignore the rules of the road, be they dads on a Sunday drive, or pilots of piles of junk!

Alexandros Liakopoulos – Decisiveness gives a clarity of vision that might just overthink itself into a indecisiveness. Like a warlike diatribe leading to peace.

martin321 – the dangers of accepting pills from strange men, with the lesson that no matter how great the high, there is no guarantee that it might be a final one, and there is no promise of where you might find yourself when you land.

Hrm, I put up a story, but after reading through the posts about what absurdist fiction is, I'm not sure I followed the genre. I thought that it was something that was just completely unrealistic. I think I'll leave it as is for now and see what others think.

I've been trying to do something a little different with the comments this month - but then we do that every month! I think Victoria has done an absolute wonder with her one word masterpieces, I'm not sure whether what I'm attempting is working.

As always I certainly don't know what I'm doing.

With the absurd being the style, I've tried to make the comments absurd in themselves, while still addressing what has been written. Just not sure whether it is working or not.

I have been trying to work something else into each comment just to add to the element of the absurd (and fun).

I think you and @Victoria Silverwolf are fabulous to do this every month! Honestly, sometimes the reviews top the challenges themselves! Well done, both of you, and thanks for all your hard work. We all appreciate it hugely. :)

Seems like you and Vic are doing fine so far.

Come December's 75 and I'm planning on letting the Dark Lord provide his own unique brand of commentary for an end of year... was going to say 'treat' but suspect that depends on the readers PoV. All I can say is he happily soaks along safe in the hot tub of ignorance.

Oh crike... I mean crumb... I mean golly gosh. I've written two stories for the Challenge and have no idea which to submit; maybe I should write a third entry about the futility of choosing between the first two entries?

Be truly absurd and merge them together

LittleStar – There is no easy route, no matter how close you seem to the end the road goes ever on, try and seize life by the throat and it knocks you back down again.

Clockworkbot – What goes around comes around, especially in the reincarnation game. Unfair? Unjust? The need to release pent up anger after being crushed by a pachyderm like uncle and coming back like that!

DEO – An epic bit of nonsense that might be closer to reality than we might believe, quantum realities unfolding like pages in a book.

HazelRah (Do not miss! Do not miss!) – A kick in the stomach as entire life is reduced to an absurdity, robbed of a chronological existence, a wasted life.

Hope – No final champion here, just a brutal destruction of all things edible, with everyone both guilty and consumed, carried away by maggots.

SaharrenAstounding! The dinosaurs survived, evolving, creating, taking names, entertainment served on miraculous devices belonging to him, viewing us, seen as learned mice, struggling to evolve.

Venusian Broon – Poor pitiful creations kept in the dark by a whimsical God, observing from on high without any worries or concerns.

When I decided to set myself a challenge when doing the comments this month, there was one thing I was dreading, and I reached that point with Saharren's entry. Nothing to do with the entry itself, rather than the comment.

Anyone want to take a punt at what I am up to? Virtual prize for anyone who gets it?

DEO - story loosely intersected with what I am trying. Is that a clue?
