CBS has such an enormous wealth of mythology at its disposal as it creates the new Star Trek. My hope is that the network doesn't skimp on talent and budget. A monthly charge might give the series the extra financial support it needs to become great.
I would like to see a restoration of Roddenberry's vision of a mature Humanity which has outgrown its warlike personality and expanded to the stars as a force for good. Earth should be a environmentally resurrected paradise, a perfect setting for crew R&R and explorations of their off-duty personal lives.
What I would not like to see is a formulaic composition for the new Enterprise crew -- captain, Vulcan/android, doctor, chief engineer and an assortment of red-shirted expendables. How about a Borg Trash Control Officer? Nobody is better than the Borg at recycling and reusing materials.
