Szekret Sztory: Szection Szeven

Still a couple of weeks left to get your requests in, folks, before I crank up the algorithms in my patented Random Story Generator and dish out assignments.

If you're stuck for inspiration, remember you could always just structure your request as we do in the writing challenges, ie Theme: heroes; Genre: SFF. Just as an example :)

That's too simple. Where's the fun in that? Make it complicated.

Only Pseven hours left to join in the Sekrit Santa fun. I'll be divvying up stories and authors tomorrow, so if you want something, and want to write something, whack it up here!

Thought I'd tap up some of our regulars to see if anyone's missing the boat. At present we have 13 requests (down from 20 last time) so would be good to see some more before the clock strikes 12.

@Phyrebrat @Venusian Broon @farntfar @mosaix @The Judge @Cathbad @crystal haven @willwallace @pambaddeley @StilLearning @Cascade @Cat's Cradle you're all conspicuous by absenteeism... can I twist any of thine arms to toss your hat n' pen into the Baseball Cap of Doom?

Ok well, last night's efforts at securing a few extra pens in the pot was all to no avail, it seems. So we have 13 entrants, although that includes myself, which isn't usually the done thing, but what the heck! Note: this will mean that someone will receive a story where the recipient knows the author (ie, er, me). If this isn't cool, say so and I'll remove my request.

Here are the 13 requests and their owners.

@Ashleyne. B. Watts – I like horses, and I also like the idea of jousting. I'd like to joust one day, but for now, I'd like a story which features at least one joust.

@chrispenycate – A portal magpie.

@DG Jones – Something set in an alternate historical timeline featuring an MC with a 'power' they consider a curse.

@HazelRah – A heartfelt story featuring an ex-convict and a talking animal. I'll leave the rest pretty open - but the addition of a morally confused robot is always welcome.

@Ihe – A post-apocalyptic survival story that involves demons and blind people.

@hopewrites – I like anthropomorphic characters, something (any genre) where the MC learns to be more inclusive.

@Jaxx – A story about redemption and starting over, utilising a spiritual awakening for the MC, set in a classic medieval fantasy trope, with familiar races, with a twist.

@johnnyjet – A story about a clinically depressed teen who encounters a runaway robot and finds a new purpose by helping the robot.

@Kerrybuchanan – I'd like a story about a person who is actually a robot/cyborg/AI, but doesn't know they are. If the writer can bring a cat into the story it would be greatly appreciated. It can be any genre / period -don't feel bound to write pure Sci-Fi just because there's a robot in it.

@Robert Mackay – A story with a reveal in which something about the MC's (and reader's) assumptions about the world turn out to be untrue.

@Shyrka – A story where the lines between heroes and villains are blurred.. Genre isn't important but at least half the principle characters should be female.

@Vaz – A slightly dystopian story featuring a female MC and her badass talking velociraptor companion attempting to steal something priceless from a shady corporation.

@Victoria Silverwolf – A story about two characters who wader about their environment for whatever reason you like, and who encounter another character who causes complications in their lives. Any genre, no restrictions.

I'll be PMing peeps throughout the day with their assignments, after I've consulted the Patented Baseball Cap of Psekrit Pselekshun.

Hi Dan,

Sorry missed the tag - I never get notifications when tagged... :(

I'm not in this round. The challenge themes in the 75ers of late have been hard enough for me, so some of these requests are too, er, outré even for me...

I may submit one at random if you're missing one or I have time etc.

Oh god, mine too. Now I have to figure out what the hell to write!

@hopewrites I am a silly.

I sent everyone's yesterday, and I definitely sent yours. Or so I thought.

In my haste the autofill put a different member called "Hope" instead of "hopewrites" in the conversation field. "Hope" hasn't been on the boards since 2006... I've just amended it to get to you - apologies! Let me know you get it ok :)

Well, well, well.

One of our authors has gone straight to the top of the class and showed the rest of you 'orrible little lot up, because we have our first submission, after a paltry two days!

I'm staring wildly at our resident Sekrit mod @chrispenycate to check if this is some sort of record?
