Discussion Thread -- May 2016 75-word Writing Challenge

So I've jotted a draft down (always nice when it comes out at 76 weds:) ) but it needs to sit, it's not quite right, quite good enough... And having just read through the entries thus far, I'm thinking I might need to start over. There are some really excellent stories already.
You chronners never cease to amaze!(y)

nixie - This is the stuff of dreams, a vast panorama laid out before you, reality of vast imagination it does not matter, it is the sense of wonder that comes with, ending with a simple sting all the possibilities dwindle to the single terminal certainty.

Vaz – And on the seventh day… how easy it is to mistake good for evil, a simple twist can bring about aching hearts and broken dreams, perhaps giving way to the inevitable end, but even that can open a new book into a realm of glory. Some beautiful language.

Callipenjo – The promise of a new day? What could be better, knowing the myriad of wonders that might come, as simple as anything, pure as life. But what if there was no tomorrow? All those simple things erased – and we knew it was coming.

Glen – Does tomorrow have a meaning if time becomes a chaotic form of perception, where time unravels, reconnects in a manner that can only be described as obscene, tomorrow, yesterday and today all coming from different directions, but meeting in the right place, in the wrong order. I’m going home, my head hurts.

Shyrka – Misdirection, making use of things that are taken for granted. A deadly incursion, the need for mornings light, a desperate play, all work out in the head, until the rug is pulled from beneath our feet. Science tells us that planets rotate at different rates, different gravities, different lengths of day and night…

VB – Anything that can go wrong, will go wrong, is the phrase that springs to mind when reading this, but there is a sense of playfulness that carries it through and the conclusion is filled with such optimism that the reader cannot go home on a downer.

Heijan Xavier – Can you ever really escape? Sometimes it is the things you seek for comfort that you must escape from. In finding succor you just have to run again. Once more tomorrow is the distant beacon of hope which we hope will bring better things.

Duttster – It’s almost certainly an Amazon Prime delivery. They are getting so exact with their timings, and the promise of drone deliveries to come, who knows what they will be offering in the future. Delivery before you have even made your order?

It's nice to be welcomed back, so thanks for those that have so kindly done so - not that I've been away, just lurking and posting the stories. The return of the comments is just the next step. I might even start looking through the forums in a minute.

Victoria, thanks for the kind words, I appreciate the master comment, but I think you wear the crown of the reviews now!

Having read through the stories I've stumbled on two that, structurally match what I was going to try and do, so it's going out the window and I've got to come up with a new idea...

Update: The medication that has kept me so subdued over the last couple of months gets cut back a bit more at the end of this week, so I'm looking forwards to being more with it... even more - if that makes sense.

Yay, Perp is back (when did he leave?).

Bowler1 walks away, mumbling - Perp has more come backs than Rocky, or Rambo even. I wonder if he is Italian???

Well this is a valid point, probably more welcoming me back to the reviewing malarkey rather than actually being away.

And you are of course always correct. Big secret here, is never argue with the guy with the twitchy trigger finger, and big gun.

Cascade - Lots of martyrs out there today. All of them proud to salvage some honour in their hour of failure. Here's to hoping the hordes of murderers ravaging their way around our world meet the same fate as your hero.

Old_Man_Steve2016 - I feel as though knowledge of Lorkorian culture would shed a lot more light on the story, and I'm embarrassed if that's basic sci-fi knowledge that I'm lacking. Without that seemingly important background knowledge though...wow, a brand knew wife as fresh as the day you met her and 65 years to work on your projects :ROFLMAO:

Jo Zebedee - With out Ma's voice
neither orcs
nor wolves
nor man bates
a man to leave his shelter and fight and die.

With Ma's voice though...

chrispenycate- Definitely want to read the family unfriendly version. Perhaps Theo Therday can be of help. 8,8,8,8,8,8,8,8,8,8,8,8,7,8,7,aaaahhhh . There could be a contest for writing the last line!

Once you've got them in the dialog box, you can snip them down to just the bits you want to quote or specifically reply to by deleting everything else. Leave what's in the brackets [ ] as that's how the forum knows how to link your quotes.

:)

Thanks hopewrites.
