DISCUSSION THREAD -- October 2016 75-word Writing Challenge

Starbeast -- This knockabout comedy spoof mixes multiple elements from the literature of the fantastic.

Thank you Lady Victoria for the review. You made my night shine bright.

Hmm. Now if I can just work with the minuscule idea I have for the 300. I need my gas-powered thinking helmet.

To the Batmobile!!!

......................................................................................................................................................Hmm. Where did I park? :cautious:

This story was my first post on the forum - hope I got it right!

Nice to meet you Stable. I think you did just fine, AND, you kept your excellent tale within the 75 word limit.

My first tale I wrote for this challenge was a train-wreck. But I had fun doing it, and for me, that's the best part.

Yes, I know. Consider it fantasy in that such a situation could never arrive in England's green and peasant land (and even less in Scotland). Or just avoid voting for ir (you weren't going to anyway, so it's nice to have an excuse).

Just a reminder about word count, as I've just had to remove a good story as it fell over the 75 limit.

We all know how important it is to count the words properly. Don't forget, though, that simply joining two words with a hyphen doesn't automatically create one word. If you have an unusual compound word -- whether joined with a hyphen like-this or joined together likethis -- either check its word count with a mod before posting, or to be on the safe side count it as two words (or three or more depending how many are joined, of course).

Thank you Ms. Silverwolf for another inspiring review.

In honor of the upcoming election season, this story was my shameless attempt to sway the female vote!

Ashleyne B. Watts-A desperate plea to stop the endless need.

Perpetual Man-A Science Fiction look at genetic manipulation.

Elventine-A humorous look at a historical landmark.

Milth-A victorious battle won only to receive the bad news that the drink of choice is no longer.

Luiglin-A fantasy tale of the woes of living.

Victoria Silverwolf-A chance to remember something that disappeared a long time ago.

Wruter-The aftermath of battle. The cries that no one hears.

AmberEyes-To show emotion meant waste of a valuable resource.

reiver33-A land where nothing lasts or life is taken away.

Shyrka-Someone at a meeting for the same reason but from a different source.

johnnyjet -- The inability of humanity to abandon the horror and stupidity of war is aptly conveyed in this stark allegory.

AstroZon -- This realistic science fiction story reminds us of the fallibility of human efforts, no matter how carefully planned.
