Discussion Thread -- FEBRUARY 2017 -- 75 Word Writing Challenge

Many thanks to all, with a particular nod to TheDustyZebra for taking care of the next challenge.

For all practical purposes, The Judge should be considered a co-winner, so congratulations are in order.

Welcome back to the keyboard! I hope your outing was in the lines of a nice little get away and not some drudgery or the other.

Sorry I haven't got on before this. I'm having a bit of internet issues lately. Thank you for the reviews, Victoria, Parson and Shykra. And thank you for the long listing, Cathbad. Very much appreciated.
Congratulations to both Victoria Silverwolf and the Judge for tying it up so neatly, and Congratulations again to Victoria for winning the shootout.
My vote was for Nixies story. Runners up were, in no order; Sapheron, Victoria, Glenn, Johnny Jet, Ratsy, Luiglin, Cathbad, Big J, Tommy Brouer, Parson, Mr.Orange, Farnfar, Kerrybuchan, Alex Darion, phyrebrat, Storm Feather, The Judge, Hugh, Chrispennygate, and LittleStar.
Since we were doing Fables, a la Aesop's I attempted to instill a moral. Typically as when there is too much story. And not enough words, I shoehorned my effort into the already well known and apropos for the month story of Cupid and Psyche - with a few adjustments. My take was the obverse of Shallow Hall, (who in the film was blind to ugliness) with a Psyche that was blind to the beauty of her marriage not by darkness, nor a blindfold, but because she did not see with love. So my moral was that the heart that stops itself from accepting love, will stay blind to both love and beauty. But even prejudice can be unblinded where love takes hold and grows, allowing us to create new life.
(Parson the last word in my story, Revivescere, means rebirth or reincarnation in Latin.)

Google translate didn't seem to get it. By context I was sure it must mean something about life, but what exactly was a dark mystery. Gave it another go and I came up with (after I said Latin to English) with rEVIVE --- In that form no less.
