Discussion thread for 100-Word Anonymous Writing Challenge. March 2017.

Wonderful job, Ashleyne! I loved your story.
And mosaix, where did THAT come from?? (No wait, don't answer!) Your story was so funny, well done!
Also, johnnyjet guessed me correctly, so bravo! :) The guessing really is the hardest part...we all posted nice stories, then I think 2 guesses right was the most any of us achieved. Writing is much easier, I think! :)

Congratulations, Ashleyne! Fine job. Looking forward to your theme & genre in May.

Thanks for the votes, Vaz and Cory Swanson!

Thanks for the vote, CC. :)

Decided to go for a bit of humour this month and the scenario came to me first as an outrageous idea, then I thought 'why not?' As long as it remained family friendly. I think I got away with it. I think most families would have been amused.

Congratulations Ashleyne

What a surprise. I voted for Cat's Cradle.

My Story: I thought, "why not have a villain, whom everyone's afraid of, and he (the outlaw), is afraid to meet his maker at the end." I had trouble choosing a title, until I heard Eric Clapton singing Bob Dylan's song on the radio.

Thank you, Starbeast! I've been wondering who voted for me! :) And you're absolutely right...it was an invasion, but in the Old West, the only way this person could interpret that was as divine retribution. I'm very happy you liked the story, CC

Congratulations Ashleyne. I liked your tale of him being haunted by his vanquished opponents. Deep

I voted for 'Knocking on Heaven's Door' because out of all the stories, it stuck in my memory the most.

Firstly, nice to meet you, Ashleyne, plus congratulations for the win. And second, thank you for the vote. You made my night. I almost forgot to thank you.

Hey @Starbeast! Ashleyne is our (young) old friend Ashleyne B W_____; she changed her username recently (I think this is right). :)

Yeah, I'm the same Ashleyne. I just got rid of the B. Watts.

Thanks, everyone, for your kind words of congratulations. I'm really looking forward to hosting the next anonymous comp. I'm glad that I haven't got to do it until next month, though. My throat's swollen. It wouldn't be at all nice to host a competition while I'm ill.

Oh. Well hush my puppies. Thanks bro.

Drink plenty of hot liquids for your throat. No sugar or dairy products. That and rest always helped me (to heal quickly). Get well soon Lady Ashleyne.

Thanks for your sweet words SB, I liked the idea of doing a mid-west western. Rolling grasslands and what not. Then thought "hey! What if death went falconing... That'd be a good western."

And suddenly I was the hawk Death sent out for Bugs Bunny. Dear old Bugs didn't make the word count, as all he did was that inhale-scream, it would have broken the mood to speech tag him.

Fun to see how writing Westerns changes everyone's voice around.

Just a quick update for all those who're interested in participating in May's anonymous competition.

I plan on opening the challenge and discussion threads on May 2nd near midnight GMT.

Entries must be sent to me before midnight on the 26th, and I'll allow 3 days for the voting process, meaning that when May ends, voting ends.

I'm so looking forward to hosting :)
