Discussion Thread -- April 2017 75-word Writing Challenge

It seems like only last month we had a tiebreaker. :)

Thanks to all who shortlisted me, and to @MrOrange for the vote.

And now that it doesn't affect the voting, an explanation of something in my story. The dinosaurs were playing with plastic dinosaur figures. Plastic is made from fossil fuels. Fossil fuels are made from...fossils. Like dinosaurs. Therefore, plastic dinosaurs are made from...dinosaurs.

Apologies for not doing my usual shortlist and thank-you yesterday -- an unexpected trip to the hospital wiped out most of the afternoon and evening, and I just had no energy left to do a proper job when we got back just before 10pm (which just confirms that I need to take my own advice in the Stats thread to vote early to avoid real life getting in the way). I did manage to vote after a speedy re-read of the entries, and my vote went to Cul, with ratsy in runner-up position.

Many thanks to nixie for the unexpected vote, and to all who mentioned/shortlisted my story.

Congrats to both tie-ers, but my vote in the tie-break goes to Hoopy.
 
Tie break vote to Stuart from me. Was very close to snatching my ordinary vote and halting the tie-break madness, so it seemed only proper (y)

Maybe...maybe it would've been better not to mention that.... (LOL :LOL:)

Anyhow....

I hope She Who Shall Not Be Named :)p) will choose a subject straight after she wins, ie, tonight. I'm full of wine fuel, and ready for another bash at the title - er...I mean this fascinating writing exercise...

I know the poll will not be up as long as some said it might, but it isn't going to be closed tonight: it will be closed at 23:59 GMT the end of the 30th of April, not the 29th of April (today's date GMT).

In fact, it isn't going to be closed until 01:00 on Monday morning (1st of May) where I live, as the UK -- other than the weather -- is on British Summer Time.
 
I thoroughly enjoyed reading every story, twice even. Very inspiring experience.

Voted for Hoopy in the tie breaker because that is who I voted for the first time round. That story spoke to me the loudest. :)
 
I did read the stories. I always have a hard time trying to decide which one. So, in those cases, I just close my eyes and pick. This time, I didn't get here in time to do the major voting and I do apologize. However, I did the tie breaker vote.

I was kinda sorta busy doing some critting in another group and then trying to catch up on my WIP.

I do appreciate everyone reading my story and I appreciate being short listed. It means a lot. A giant hug to everyone, and if I ever get the chance, a big round of ginger ale for everybody. Yay!
