DISCUSSION -- JULY 2017 300-word Writing Challenge (#26)

Some good 'uns in so far.
I've started two different stories and didn't like the way they were developing, too dark!
I need my happy thoughts back :D

Just a reminder that the word count pixie can always be asked in advance of posting :)

Anyway I'm on hols :) so no story yet
Such pixies are most appreciated, though I asked a word count Pegasus with judiciary leanings for a judgement on one word (Terraformation) and counted the only other potentially problematic word as two (I wasn't seeing bio-generator being one word...). She, in turn, took my inquiry to the Mystical Council of Word Counting (MCWC) who ruled it one word.

My word also strangely came back smelling of pixie dust... you don't know anything about that, do you?

@nixie , would you be willing to shed some light on this whole "Lavender/Cumin" issue, or is this part of the pixie deep lore not available to outsiders?

300 words exactly, and I'm not happy with it. This always happens when I jot out a 400+ word scene and then cut it down to fit. I try to keep too much and lose the feel of what I'm after.

I'm the same with the 75s. You crop it down so far that the tale doesn't truly represent the original.

I see what you mean. There are certain connections I'm forced to make, yet in searching for them, encounter many variables and don't read with confidence, because I'm not sure I'm reading it correctly.
