Discussion Thread -- August 2017 75-word Writing Challenge

I have voted - even if I didn't own up to it straight off.

My short list was:- Dave Barsby, HazelRah, Luiglin, Parson, Perpetual Man, ratsy. Teresa Edgerton. and Vaz, with Vaz finally getting the vote - all this international travel is slowing me down.

According to my probably not quite accurate lists, the votes we are missing are:- AstroZon. Cat's Cradle. cidetraq. D.A. Xiaolin Spires. Dan Jones, Dave Barsby. HazelRah, Ihe, Joshua Jones, Peter V, ratsy, Shyrka, Starbeast and Ursa major but we do have: Wruter, David Evil Overlord and farntfar who voted without submitting.

Thanks very much farntfar, johnnyjet and TheDustyZebra for the mentions, and, of course, Heijan Xavier, TitaniumTi and Vaz for the votes - whooee, three votes, I'll have to throw things out ultra-fast without corrections more often:D.
Excuse me but I voted for you, grumbles under breath ....hmm I vote even knowing the tortures we may endure, and he goes and thanks someone else:eek::D

Sorry, you're right, not Vaz, nixie. getting confused in my old age. I've edited it (and taken The Judge and CC out of 'not voted)

It was too hard for me to come up with a story this month, for whatever reason, probably lazyness if I am to be imperfectly honest. I enjoyed reading though, as always.

Voted for The Big Peat.

Well done, everybody. :)

Sorry for not voting yet. I've been away/busy for the last week and reviews/votes/etc. have slipped a lot. I'll try to get it in before the deadline later.

So for me it was neck and neck between Perp and Littlestar for a long time. But after several reads and re-reads, Littlestar swayed into the lead by a hair. Both hit the nail on the head for me, theme wise. Great stories.

And big thanks for all the mentions, and to Phyrebrat and Hugh for the votes :giggle:

With the hope that voting in a Challenge on the subject of Tenderness won't lead to any sore feelings, here are the results of the Ursa jury:

Honourable Mentions:
  • The Little Boat That Could by Stable
  • The Sacrifice by Joshua Jones
  • Forever by Perpetual Man
  • I Believe That The Heart Does Go On by Dan Jones

Runners Up:
  • So Near and Yet So Far by johnnyjet
  • It's too bad she won't live, but then again who does? by Starbeast
  • After the Laughter by The Judge

Winner:
  • From Herr Drosselmeyer's Workshop by Teresa Edgerton

Congratulations LittleStar

Gigantic THANK YOU @Calliopenjo & @dannymcg - for the votes

A huge SMILE for everyone who mentioned my story

A big HUG to all of our REVIEWERS

An a mighty WELL DONE to all of the AUTHORS

Congratulations Littlestar - awesome story.

Thanks to our wonderful reviewers, and all the folks who take part and make these challenges as tough and, er, challenging as they are.

:) V

CONGRATULATIONS LITTLESTAR!

I also wanted to thank everyone for reading my story. If I'm honest enough, I don't write steampunk or cyberpunk stories so that little bit was the best I could think of. It took me a while to think of something.

I think Facebook probably knows my computer by heart by now.
:D
