Gemmell Movie?

he does look like he could use some conditioner in his hair!! some people no personal hygene regime

I've never given much thought to Skilgannon. He'd be fun to watch on the big screen, especially with Druss in the same scene. Who would play Sieben? He'd have to be a ladies man, exuding confidence and charm. Sieben goes bald when he's older, so he'd have to look good as a bald guy as well. I always thought of Rowena as Jennifer Connoly, but the book describes her as rather plain - and I dont think Jen is plain.

The Damned books would make awesome movies because of them having Druss, Skilgannon, and other cool characters too. Christian bale could play Druss, lol. He could just magically become big enough. He normally does.

I think we are more likely to see either Legend as its so popular and could be worked well with CGI or the shannow books, as western style films are easy to do.

although the rigante may also be another option, but looking at the cockup they made of arthur...im not sure i want to see this is would be like a cross between Brave heart and arthur ...all action and no substance.

Nar, I think the Rigante books are most likely to be moviefied - if on the extremely unlikely event that any of them are. The Rigante books would appeal to a wider audience-not just DG fans.

Personally I hope they never make any of his books into a film. They (the movie Industry) would ruin them.

i like the suggestion for skillgannon! i want to see his characters in fim but again i find myself in agreeance with wild, they would get ruined and therefore dont think they should be made

do you know what i would give jon rhys davis a chance to play druss as he is basically a taller gimli if you think about the way he is portrayed and the art work on the front of the book for legend. Id like to see winter warriors done it was the first david gemmell book i read i thought it was a good story too.

Hi folks,i've not been on the forum for a while, but it seems nobody can find Druss, you all seem to keep picking small guys to play this very big guy.Trust me,Druss just isn't out there, but we can still dream.Keep trying though guys, you never know.......

Druss wasnt necessarily a huge guy, he looked like it in battle.

I'd love to see a film made of The King Behind The Gate. I think it would be the best choice of book to film. Although, The Damned would be a good idea also.

I haven't read it in a couple of years so I forget some of the charcters but here is my choices.

Mads Mikkelson as Decado

Christian Bale as Ananais

Mark Dacascos as Tenaka Khan

Judi Dench as the old woman, I forget her name. Although this would have problems as she marries Ananais in ther book, and I just can't picture Dench getting it on with Bale.

Off the top of my head i'd put your man who played Shang Tsung in Mortal Kombat as Asta Khan.

I think Rigante would make an awesome movie series and its easy for them not mess it up.

Cause how clear the source material is. I mean highlanders, stone people with gladius,Varlish etc

Just asked the same question soz didnt see this 1 till iscrolled down the page,
I think it should be the rigante trilogy, dnt know who i would cast though

I am reading Legend right now actually and i think the old Druss is suppose to be alittle round in the waist area so i think the guy from 12th warrior has to look both strong and that age has made him more round if they ever made the movie.

hmm, yes i do like the guy from 13th warrior as druss. however, having only JUST got into the books, and only having read legend yet (i bought more books today), in my mind druss is very similar to Gerard Butler in 300. only problem is, he couldnt be druss because the stories are so similar in their barest forms that it would just be wierd to have him as the lead in two such films.

i still think hed be good though for druss at some point in his life. i mean, hes even scottish as well!

It could possibly work and to be honest I was thinking that they might do well if they shot the two Parmenion novels in the same format. Other than that I think that perhaps the only way to persuade people to make a film would be for the fans to pressure the studio's however it would be a case of finding a director with a love of the novels in order to make the whole thing work. Plus one that would be happy to let the Estate keep the rights to the worlds.

Other than that I may well have to see about whats possible and take the helm and see if I can persuade some studio to give me a few million. lol

Waylander! Or maybe legend, but a whole film about a siege maybe pushing it a bit. Like the idea of Darkmoon also, could make a good film.
