DISCUSSION THREAD -- December 2017 75-word Writing Challenge

Well, it's 5:41am and I'm awake, and I suspect my subconscious woke me up to see what the new challenge was, for December. Ditto what Calliopenjo said. Should be fun, mosaix!

Great choices mosaix.

An idea popped into my head and I just had to use it.

I hope there’s something there for everyone. A touch of Christmas for those that way inclined and a hint at time travel for those with an SF bent.

Anyway, enjoy. :)

And a third possibility for any PowerPoint obsessives?

Maybe even a combination of all three...

Peter unwrapped his last present; MS PowerPoint 2022. What the...?
"It fell out of a small wormhole created when Mikey spilled porridge down the back of the microwave. I know how much you like your presentations." His wife Karen explained in answer to his puzzled expression.

For the record. I really hate putting PowerPoint presentations together (n)

I've suffered too many deaths by PowerPoint to count. The text flowing in from every conceivable angle, the random use of jolly Microsoft clipart, the inevitable 'oh damn I've jumped ahead let me go back'. If there is a hell then no doubt it's induction morning consists of PowerPoint presentations.

Peter, elated, installed his temporally displaced gift. He had to shovel his jaw from his lap. It was identical to 2016's rendition. Which, in turn, was synonymous with 2013...

Wow, I am just powerless to keep from posting a story. I held onto my entry for about six hours, *sigh*.

Nice stories so far. We'll be voting at Christmas, so may all of our future selves be merry, and surrounded by family as they read through the 42+ entries, before voting. :)

I'm planning on enlightening my voting judgement with copious amounts of festive alcohol.

The Universal Roll Call - excellent, Victoria. Just one of the many aspects of 'Present' that I had in mind when I suggested the theme. I had no idea how to put it into practice though. :(

I need an idea... anyone have an extra one lying around?

Ditto for me, too many cheesy old jokes bouncing about in my brain to concentrate on a story.
Think I'll give things a week or two to see if my brain settles down :)

Nothing wrong with cheesy old jokes. They are the mainstay of my writing and are the foundation for every single one of my winning... oh yes, I see what you mean.

Done and posted. I promised myself that since I didn't post anything last month, I would do something this month. A wonderful topic was put up and an idea sprung to mind right away.

Enjoy your weekend everyone.

One for the admins please:

Does ‘horror’ come under ‘speculative fiction’?

My idea for my story doesn’t include any horror with this being family friendly but definitely has ties.
