SCI-FI-London 48hr Flash Fiction Competition

If I were you, I'd opt out of this optional "science"!!

Yes, that was my first thought as well.

However, having done some research in the last hour or so, I've come up with a sci-fi concept, including the optional idea, that I sort-of like. I've figured out a way to integrate the title with it. I have no idea at the moment where the dialogue line could go, but I'm working on it.

It might not work out, but I figure I can always ditch the idea and do something else in the morning.

Title: Under the Bridge
Dialogue: So I said 'this should come as no surprise, we sent notification at least three times'
Science (optional): It is confirmed that oceans once covered parts of Mars

Well, for instance, there's "We Can Remember it for You Wholesale". Yours would be brilliant in that light. Using it as an imperative, that is, rather than a commentary.

That's it in a nutshell :)

Do androids dream of electric sheep?
Flow my tears, the Policeman said

For a couple of other examples

Title ONLY TAKES A SECOND
Dialogue There is chili in it.. it's hot but wont burn your mouth... promise
Science (optional) Human 'black box' recorder tracks movement and interactions

The f*ck am I supposed to do with that?

mulling...

I’ve got my rough draft done. I’m willing to trade reads if anyone is looking for a diversion.

600 words in, got the characters where they need to be. I know what happens all the way to the end.

So why am I having trouble figuring out how to put it? Ugh. Got 24 hours to figure it out!

I haven't got any of mine on paper yet, but it's been stewing and I have it mostly in my head now.

Getting back to work on mine- about halfway there - have 6 hours before I have to leave for a concert, so I better get cranking.

WOOOO IRRELEVANTLY EXCITED ABOUT SEEING NIGHTWISH TONIGHT! Anyway, carry on.

About 3/4 through mine - including constant reviewing/editing. I'll have something to submit on time. Of course, Sci-Fi ain't my forte.

4.5 hours 'til deadline, I just got the story written. I'm only 157 words over, but feared I was going to be much further over the limit, so no worries. *gulp*

Came here because I needed a break. 4:38AM... but I'm use to being up all night. :)

I edit as I go, edit again after, then...

*palm slap*

...realize I forgot to add in the Dialogue portion!!

Luckily, I had written the set-up for it. Thank goodness I did a "last" read-through!

Emailing it in now.

Just entered mine with three minutes to go and no chance to edit.

Had to rewrite the last third this morning as my first ending didn't work. It does now but I expect it is full of silly mistakes.

Oh well, at least it is in there.

Good luck to everyone who has entered :)

Edit: I'll dump mine up on the web sometime after I've recovered.

I had to put mine in before I went to bed, knowing I wouldn't be up early enough to do any editing before the 6am (my time) deadline anyway.
