SCI-FI-London 48hr Flash Fiction Competition

I had to put mine in before I went to bed, knowing I wouldn't be up early enough to do any editing before the 6am (my time) deadline anyway.

Anyone know when we'll hear results? I seem to remember later in the month maybe?

Erm - does publishing it online before the competition results are announced invalidate your entry?

The festival is May 1st, so we should hear by then, although I do seem to recall it going into festival time last year, so probably by the third.

I guess I did overuse the word "sh*t" a little, didn't I? lol

@sinister42 - well, yes, it does say you can do what you like with it, but seems pretty weird to me that they are not asking you to hold back until after the judging. As in publish online AFTER the judging - cos otherwise there is no real excitement for readers if the story is already out there.

Having the contest less than a month before award presentation ain't exactly brilliant, either. Whoever runs the contest doesn't seem extremely organized, or knowledgeable.

Crap.

Err... ok, let's try this: was there a specific thing you were supposed to put in the subject line? Because I couldn't find anything saying what it was.

ETA: no, I did it almost exactly the same way as last year, so that's probably ok. And it did go, and to the correct address. So maybe it's just taking a while for some reason. I don't know why, since I was in way early.

I got one within 2 minutes of sending. There were no rules about email subject line of body text. The only rules were to do with the first page of the document to include name, address, email, words and the supplied info.

Have you checked you spam folder?
