Word of the Day: unusual words you may not have heard of

Wardcorn: Payment of corn in place of military service.
AND
Ward-Corn: The duty of keeping watch and ward, with a horn to be blown upon any occasion of surprise.

There seems to be more than one meaning of this word, depending on the time period and use.

Prosopagnosia, also called face blindness, is a condition where you have difficulty recognizing people's faces.

I picked this up from a bit in National Geographic. Never heard of such a thing. The author compared her affliction to trying to identify an individual bird in a giant horde of sand hill cranes.

Crwth - a Welsh lyre played with a bow.
