Seems fine to me. Now we're expecting TheDustyZebra and Ursa, and maybe Karn and DEO (well, of course anybody else is welcome…

I'm in.
Had a different piece I was working up but it started stretching it's legs and ran long.

LittleStar: When the mighty clash, it is the weak who feel the blows.

Vince W: Hope can arise from ashes, but it takes a great deal of hard work.

Bob Senior: Desperate circumstances can teach painful lessons about survival.

TheDustyZebra: If the meek will inherit the Earth, it may be because they remain unnoticed.

Mad Alice: Even destruction can possess a strange kind of beauty.

Ursa major: Hanging on by a thread makes you vulnerable to being cut off.

@LittleStar .... The End of a World .... LittleStar paints a dark story reminding us that even after the Apocalypse the human desire for empire runs strongly.

@Vince W .... Big Plans .... Vince reminds us that people still plan for word domination even after the Apocalypse.

@Bob Senior .... EMPIRE FOREST PRODUCTS .... Bob paints a really, really, bleak picture of existing after the Apocalypse.

@TheDustyZebra .... Accession .... The Striped One gives an idea about the next empire's rulers and their new plan for the world wide web.

@Mad Alice .... The Circus On the Edge of Forever .... Mad A draws upon a deep well of sadness as the Apocalypse is viewed from afar.

@Ursa major .... Uninterruptible .... Ursa lets us in on the connected nature of the universe even in the Apocalypse.

Oh my! It is a fantastic field of entries this month. I have not been able to come to a decision yet, but here is my short list.
@Victoria Silverwolf L'état, C'est Moi When it comes right down to it, the lowest common denominator ‘empire’ is our mind.
@Dr_R_Dizzle 15-Love. I can see them melting
@Tywin Sworn to Keep the Barbarians at Bay I didn’t want to leave Marius alone
@nixie New Beginning A new start based on old truth that the powerful rule.
@M. Robert Gibson La Conquête du Monde. I loved the intensity of the game and the ending.
@Teresa Edgerton The Price of Miracles Another story I wanted more of.
@TheDustyZebra Accession Just a vision of spiderwebs everywhere both creeped me out and made me smile when I read the last bit. I seem to recall a town where the spiders do build webs overhead and across buildings. Stuff of nightmares for me.

Also, many thanks for the 3 mentions. I’m so glad you liked my story.
