Discussion Thread December 2019 75 Word Writing Challenge.

It's one of a handful of plugins I was using for the forum software. However a few months back one of them started to cause the server to crash, so I deactivated them all just to be safe.

Fair enough, I guess. Not really the idea, but if that's what you got from it, then I can't disagree.

I do, however, wonder how much additional misery and awkwardness is generated for people who actually do have something legitimate to complain about during the month of December, and consequently have to also feel bad for doing so when everyone else is so happy.

In my profession I've had many discussions with people for whom the holiday was shadowed to say the least. There are even some churches who have a kind of memorial service at this time of the year for people who miss loved ones especially at the Holiday Time. So if they are part of a viable community of faith they should have support available if they choose to ask. This should be especially true if your needs are material, rather than emotional or psychological.
