Vote goes to the all-too-believable near future of A Room With Several Unpleasant Views.

So many good entries with some beautiful craft. My short list was:

The Tower in the Woods
A Room with Several Unpleasant Views
Quis custodiet ipsos custodes?
A Matter of Perspective
Home Improvement
Room 143
Starry Night – - Bright Comets Adrift
Words Fail

Honestly, almost everything could have gone on the shortlist.
In the end, Room 143 edged it, just for how punchy and efficient it was, without losing any of its eloquence. It just spoke to a shade louder than the others.

Shortlist:

The Tourist
The Outsiders
Lifepod
Home Improvement
Room 143

Favourites:

A Room With Several Unpleasant Views
Perchance To Dream
Words Fail

In the end, Perchance To Dream _just_ pipped the rest to the post.

Time for some guessing.
But first a cool statistic—there were 8 first time participants in this Anon Challenge!

Welcome to all the first timers!

Here is a list of the stories in order of posting, followed by a list of the writers, in alphabetical order (with one red herring).

I voted for Starry Night--Bright Comets Adrift

So how does this work with the guessing? Do we post our guesses here or email them to you Elvet?

Today is the last day for voting.
For everyone that has entered, please consider voting. As of this posting, there are only 15 votes.

You post them here, it is just a bit of extra fun. You just start guessing, and I’ll tell you how many right or wrong you have. It often ends up being more of a logic puzzle.

And the winner is:
THE TOWER IN THE WOODS
CONGRATULATIONS
SHYRKA!!

I’ll post the full list of authors and stories tomorrow.

Yes, well done Shyrka. It was definitely in my top 3.
As for this guessing malarkey; I'm not sure I've been around long enough to know everyone's styles. I was hoping to cheat and read through the Doctor Who section of the forum to see work out who wrote Jack of All Trades, but I couldn't see any posters from the author list (apart from myself).

I saw little details with punctuation, line spacing, grammar, title capitals, etc., but couldn't see them recreated elsewhere.

Next month, maybe...

Wow, thanks everyone! What a lovely surprise to get this morning. There were some very strong entries so I knew it wasn't a done deal even when I realised I had an early lead.

Huge thanks to @elvet for organising.
