As I understand it:
Just pick one of the three. If no one else wanted it you should be fine. If others have chosen it too there's a 'dice roll' to see who gets it and if you lose that you get a second pick from what's left.
 
Okay I think I get it now. Sorry, I'm used to suggestions being decided by the mods and then we're told what the options are.
So I have to go through the thread and pick out three of the suggestions I like, and then PM Alice back with them, is that right? Then she'll assign me a story based on that choice? Sorry, but it might have been made a little clearer. Also, I'm dumb.

You should receive a PM from Mad Alice with 3 suggestions for you to pick 1 from that you favor. Let Alice know your choice. If no-one else (Troll or otherwise) selects the same suggestion you're set and can start writing or plotting. When 2 people go for the same option Fate will get a chance to influence our destiny.
 
Are these PMs being gradually rolled out? Because I didn't get one either. I'd be perfectly happy having things randomly assigned.

As you were loathe to be assigned a topic from a preexisting universe and I unfortunately know from which preexisting universe most of the story prompts have sprung from (you know who you are and know I can't be fooled by nonmention of ponies, cannibalistic housepets, magic mirror game show hosts nor vampire werewolf proms.) But enough. No prompt shaming here.

It's actually a magic eight ball. It makes all major decisions for all government parties and random writing threads.
Along with a full set of dungeon dice (i.e. 1d4 roll 3 and above and we build a wall, 1d20 roll 6 and under send food ships to Venezuela ) it is the modern way to govern from all I am able to discern
But let's call it fate.

Yes. It helps to disorder the order.
But generally it's after a certain tipover point when you graph the process to ensure maximum chaos in sending and returns that basically allow everyone an equal but unequilivent chronologically chance at a very nice prompt, supposedly..
Fear not oh brave story seeker.

Would it make your job easier if, instead of just picking one of the options, we were to rank the three options by preference?

I.e.: You offer options A, B, and C. Instead of saying, "I want C" is it more helpful to say, "I like C the most, then A then B."
 
Oh dear. That's done it. You two are in the soup now.
Well @Provincial and @tegeus-Cromis the magic eight ball has declared you two as now being required to have a dance off battle for which of you gets the next prompt.
Should you be unfamiliar with the rules of the virtual dance off, they are as follows;
Consulting YouTube select the most awe inspiring clip of a dance battle. A true tour de force.
Post your respective clips here and the eight ball will judge.

Should anyone else wish to challenge please post a clip or gif.
 
So, I'm thinking that, by the time this pants-off dance-off is completed and judged, we could have gotten through several of us picking stories...
