DISCUSSION THREAD -- February 2021 -- 75-Word Writing Challenge

@Peter V .... Victory Parade .... Love is blind, but sometimes its victims wish it weren't.

*I note that we have now dropped under the 2 stories a day threshold. But that's still a very good average if we can maintain it.

After last month I was determined to get something in, and have done so.

I spent the first 20 days of the month working on an idea, wrote it today, then deleted it and wrote something else instead...

@Maya13 .... Why I regret I didn’t believe my Irish grandmother .... Grandma knows best, but usually we don't realize it until you are a grandma yourself, much to your own regrets.

@AlekseiVashchenko .... Regret .... When it's your time; it's your time; and sometimes that works in your favor.

@Ursa major .... Regretfully Yours .... Turn-about is fair play, but still there's something decidedly wrong about the turn-about.

Maya13 regrets not heeding the wisdom of a previous generation.

AlekseiVashchenko regrets allowing fear to rule one's life.

Ursa major regrets thinking it possible to escape a predetermined fate.

Vote goes to BT Jones for an expertly crafted character study.

Well, so much for idea of bamboozling the competition with a hard subject/theme combination.

However, I have no regrets for trying as it seems to have produced an excellent crop of misery.

There were lots of stories that made it to my long list (practicall all of them actually) but I managed to prune it down the the short list below.

Ian Fortytwo
Paranoid Marvin
Marvin
Cat's Cradle
Daysman
farntfar
PeterV
Ursa

Guess who got the vote.

(We've all been there.)

Can I remind people that:
  1. You are not supposed to vote for your own entry. While such votes cannot be removed (the software does not allow this), they will be disregarded when it comes to determining who wins the challenge and they will not be included in the challenge statistics.
  2. Entries that break the rules -- for instance, containing more than 75 words -- will, when discovered, by removed form the challenge thread. While we cannot stop people voting for them (or remove votes unwittingly cast for them for the entries were removed), those are wasted votes that cannot be later cast for elligible entries to the challenge.
