Ah! Apparently, snails move at a pace of 0.029 miles per hour, or 153 ft per hour. So, that's approximately twice as fast as my official definition.
So, 2 miles/needle in a haystack = 1 snails pace.

While not an actual unit of measurement itself, I have realised that since the limit may be measured in both units of time, and also in units of length, the End of my Tether is actually a conceptual proof that spacetime is curved since Euclidean geometry cannot explain it.

Personally, I tend to mix and match measurements because I don't really care which system I am using.


My pet peeve is seeing a CGI pterosaur in a movie or documentary flexing his wings up and down at the wrists like a bird. Arrgh.... to each his own peeve

Looks about the size of a boulder to me. If it was much smaller than that I would demote it to a rock. If it was more than 3 times that diameter I would have to promote it to a huge boulder.
