DISCUSSION THREAD -- October 2021 -- 75 Word Writing Challenge

Back on the boards, after a long absence. True to form my first draught came in at 618 words. Sigh. This is looking to be a long, long, month.

I can only assume following the easing of covid regulations you're refering to your stage career as a ventriloquist and you've only managed to do the old water drinking section of the show to a 618 words maximum. Which I agree is pretty poor. I need you to get that up to 1000 minimum before I book your act.

Practice makes perfect.

Stick to water though, or you'll be too pieced to get your 75 word story in this month.

Of course, you know, the end is coming for you, well before me.

The pitter patter of feet running into the distance, followed by rummaging, some mumbling and muttering and the odd swear word, but only one or two, in case Judge might hear. Bowler1 soon returns with just the right choice of RAY GUN slung low in a comfortable hip holster, smiling as ever, but with a sparkle in his eye this time.

Ahem....

Droflet my dear... would you care to make a wager with me on that possible outcome?

@Deke .... Ghost Ship .... When the ethereal can become material at will, mortality will result.

I’ve been playing too much shogun total war and reading the Japanese death poems on the loading screens.

@G.T. .... Paradoxes .... Time paradoxes make my head hurt, and in this case it could be worse than that.

@Artoriarius .... Ship of the Dead .... A star cruising Flying Dutchman and a very unconventional ending have to be a ghostly story.

Ship of the dead- As they say in starship troopers, my desire to know more intensifies, alas some secrets only the stars can know.

There’s no joke- When you are a ghost with eternity to pass, having a laugh at an ensign is as entertaining to the dead as it is to the living

Well I'm in, and I'm relieved more than anything else to be able to post a poetical entry; something I've really struggled with for the past few months for some reason. Inspiration can be so fickle at times.
