DISCUSSION THREAD -- December 2021 -- 75 Word Writing Challenge

I found the Muse sleeping on my couch this morning.

I can't even imagine what everyone else wrote. I read them tomorrow on my day off.

@Starbeast .... Department of Purgatory, Limbo and Second Chances .... Starbeast points out that when the Stooges running things, you'd better be prepared for non-optimal results.

@NicholasJames .... Last Christmas on Yaritz .... NickJames sends us a carol with no peace, no comfort, and no joy, just grim resolve.

@Pyan .... Westward leading, still proceeding .... Pyan swings us into an interesting alt. history ... Star of wonder, star of night...

@Daysman .... A Christmas Twisted .... Daysman twists a classic tale into something very unusual indeed.

@paranoid marvin .... What A Racket .... P. Marvin takes us on a humorous and too close to the truth, side of Christmas caroling.

That said, I would not suggest trying to put one together using all those genres at once...
Parson ponders the challenge of writing a story with the genres of SF, fantasy, ghost story, murder mystery, love story, Tudorpunk... and settles on a Queen Elizabeth who while time traveling and searching for the murderer of her once and future lover meets Casper and Gandalf.

@Dan Jones .... Are There No Workhouses? Are There No Prisons? .... Dan Jones brings us into a time and place where poverty is rampant and love still shows through.

@Bren G .... Joy to the World .... Bren retells the key story of the first carol in a thoughtful and touching way.

@sule .... A Simple Story .... Sule helps us remember the rule that: the quality of life is not truly measured in a person's net worth.
@johnnyjet .... The Scrooge Who Decommissioned Christmas .... J. Jet updates the old carol, right into the far future, but the message always remains the same.

A Simple Story is my favorite thus far. Anyone else seeing entries that stand out to them right now?

A Simple Story is very good, but I also really like Joy To The World - can’t choose between them right now. Candy Kaine’s Confession took me a little while to understand, but then it made me laugh out loud, so I currently have three favourites!
