DISCUSSION THREAD -- December 2021 -- 75 Word Writing Challenge

A Simple Story is very good, but I also really like Joy To The World - can’t choose between them right now. Candy Kaine’s Confession took me a little while to understand, but then it made me laugh out loud, so I currently have three favourites!
I hadn't read Candy Kaine's Confession when I posted this, and I must agree that it is quite humorous. I also like Oh Christmas Tree quite a bit.

@Shiftless .... Candy Kaine's Confession .... Shiftless writes a story of vanity and it's unwrapping. It made me chuckle.

So the story is up. Apart from a rudimentary few words, and the fact it attempts to rhyme it is nothing like the original (not sure whether that means better), as fully expected the mods said "No!"

Sorry @Bowler1 guess you'll never know...

@Hugh .... Chance Encounter .... Hugh brings us face to face with a very dark spirit and the famous Christmas Carol story.

@Moonbat .... The Seventeen Days of Salesmass .... Moonbat re-writes a Christmas Classic with gifts that we all have received; often unwillingly.

Dan Jones: A touching portrayal of a kind gesture.

Bren G: An inspiring tale of greatness to be.

Parson: A gentle account of nostalgia.

sule: An intriguing twist on a classic SF theme.

johnnyjet: A clever new version of an old story.

Shiftless: A droll meeting with an unusual character.

Perpetual Man: An insightful psychological portrait.

Hugh: A biting fable for today.

Moonbat: A stinging satire of commerce.

Just to reassure those who haven't entered already -- that'll be 7.5 billion of you or thereabouts -- that just because my entry is in doesn't mean that the Challenge is closing early; you still have until midnight GMT to enter. :)

I'm in. It's not what I was wanting to go with, but I couldn't make that work. I suspect I'd have been better off ditching the carol and working on a Dickensian Christmas panto instead. Ah, well, I hope that at least Parson will like it.

@Ursa major .... An Injured Gamer’s Christmas: Four Carols, One Lesson .... Ursa reminds us that both winning and losing individually is not as important as being a part of a team.

@The Judge .... An Alternative Christmas Carol .... Her Honor writes the truth and a carol which should not be "an alternative" but rather "the alternative" in today's society.

@msstice .... 0xDEADBEEF ,,,, msstice writes a carol story to save the tree which saves the world.

Ursa major: A jolly parody of traditional song.

The Judge: A satiric reminder of what is more important that trivia.

msstice: An imaginative view of a strange future.

G.T.
for a bit of whimsy that tickled my fancy.

I forgot to add last night that don't forget the winner has the option of allowing his/her to be broadcast on Dan and Chris's podcast next month. So when thinking of where to place your votes, perhaps add readability (?sing-ability!) to the criteria!

Many great stories again this month, and I narrowed it down to 4.

Cat's Cradle for a beautiful but sad piece of writing.
BT Jones for a very well written story.
Victoria Silverwolf for a neat alternate ending to a familiar tale.
Daysman for bringing a familiar character into the Carol - maybe Dickens missed a trick there?

Daysman gets my vote .
