nyah, nyah - we're gonna post spoilers!! :p :D

I hope he gets further north than Birmingham. Most authors never seem to realise we exist further north than that! *sigh* :(

Go ahead and post spoilers all you want, pal. I've already read chapters of Sam, Arya, Sansa, Jon, Davos, Tyrion, Dany, Jaime, Cersei... and a couple others. There's not much you can add to what I already know. So there!

(There's land mass north of Birmingham??? I thought it just kind of dropped off that far North. Hmm.):p

Arya, where did you find all those chapters? I can't believe there's a Jon chapter that I haven't read yet.

The Welsh may be the area around Riverrun. The crannogmen were fashioned after a people in Britain also, but I forget who. Does anyone know if the Valyrians are supposed to be based on the Saxons? That's something I've been curious about.

I notice that GRRM will be doing a UK book tour in October for the release of his book.

UK release 15th October
US release 8th November

Grrr.. Would it be sick of me to book a ticket to the UK so I can get it 3 weeks prior to the US release? I suppose I could have worse priorities. Couldn't I?

You could just order it from amazon.co.uk or if you want a signed you would probably be able to buy it from ebay.co.uk.

Its a lot better than waiting the extra 3 weeks. :)

As I understand, the Saxons were an amalgam of most of the indigenous tribes - you might be thinking that the Valyrians are kinda Norse-mythology equivalents (Valkyries...Valyrians?).

And yes, there is land mass north of Birmingham. The famous Socialist Republic of South Yorkshire for starters. Valyrian steel? Ha! Eat pure Sheffield Steel!

It's being released first in the UK because the stupid American publishers figured that later November would be better timing. I'm sure they've got the Christmas season in mind.

Technically, it's being released in Australia first, then the UK, then the US.

AGOT was first released in the US IIRC, ACOK and ASOS were first released in the UK, and now AFFC will first be released in Australia. Different publishers, different schedules. Go figure.

Woohoo! The colonies finally triumph! In something other than sport!

So I'm assuming it's like ten hours earlier, or something? Ten hours headstart, should take me a fair chunk into the tome....

Hooray! First with the book, that's great news. :) Only problem is, Western Australia will probably get it days after you Culhwch. Do you know what W.A. stands for - Wait Awile. Something we always have to do. Once again, it's patience that's needed.:D

I'ma list the POVs that I want to see in AFFC.
Sansa- I bet she makes Littlefinger fly in the end.
Brienne - One of my favorite characters.
Cercie -
- Surely they won't both stay in Kings Landing
Jamie -
Asha - In the Iron Islands
????- Someone in the North. (Below the Wall, Above the Neck)
????- Someone in Dorne.

That makes 7 POVs. You think there will be more or less?

Edit-

Ouuu! I almost forgot.
Howland Reed - In Greywater, I can't wait!

I believe that Arys Oakheart is the Dorne point of view and he was the one we originaly saw on the cover of AFFC riding into Sunspear.

I won't believe a word of the release, GRRM's website, the publishers, nor anyone here until the book is actually in my hands.
