Discussion Thread -- APRIL 2022 75 Word Writing Challenge

Voted for The Death of the Blue Falcon by @sule
Okay, this time I think I am right, and that a vote still needs to be placed. @Parson, forgive me if you intended to vote later, but you used the past tense 'voted', so I figured I'd take another chance and just mention that the vote hasn't been cast yet, hope you don't mind.

No worries, magpie Asylum - my misunderstanding, CC

My Short List and *** Favorite ***:

Adaptation - Victoria Silverwolf
Don’t Test Me – Ashleyne
*** Light Show – Daysman ***
Starship - Christine Wheelwright
Peace Talks – Peter V
Combined We Rise – Guttersnipe
The Repo - THX1138
The Façade of Regal Grace and Temperance – BigJ
Jupiter Pressure Performance Test 2049 – Parson
Air Pressure, Blood Pressure, Pillow Pressure? - The Judge

As always, not an easy choice but these two just edged out the competition

@ Daysman for a different interpretation of pressure and succumbing to it!
@ Cat's Cradle. I found this a very relatable tale. I have noticed CC has a good affinity with robots and androids

Thank you, nixie, for the listing.
And huge thanks to Peter V for the vote. It's amazing to me that you've noticed all of my android/robot stories, PV! :) I've wondered if there have been too many, but there's something about their compromised position in (fictional) society that fits where my imagination is at lately.
Honored to have your vote, CC

Shortlist:
The Test Case by Cat's Cradle
The Last Factory by Justin Swanton
The Repo by THX1138
Air Pressure, Blood Pressure, Pillow Pressure? by The Judge

Vote:
Making Heavy Weather of It? by Ursa major

Good Challenge, good choices, Luiglin! Here are my lists:

Honorables:
JS Wiig, Peter V, sule, Hugh, BT Jones, johnnyjet

Finalists:

Victoria Silverwolf - Adaptation Great, classic-feeling SF story with loads of good writing... the whale-sized ships with reactor bellies, the vintage elements of world-building, the terrific last line. Fine story.

AnRoinnUltra - George Snuffelbuff and the Gomblecast I loved this odd story of the would-be-bold George Snuffelbuff, who could only ever be an erudite wit within the confines of his own mind.

The Judge - Air Pressure, Blood Pressure, Pillow Pressure? Just be nice to people you have power over! Or... you know, just get that will in order. I can't be as clever as this story, so I'll close by saying it has my favorite last line of the Challenge.

I could vote for any of these, but the classic SF feel of Victoria's entry gets her across the finish line first, by a hair.

Thank you to nixie, Starbeast, sule and Astro Pen for the listings! And again, thank you, Peter V, for the vote. Looks to be a close one, good luck, all, with the voting, CC

Bowler1 had taken on board Parsons emphatic reply... and considers the implications of damnation.... Time passes.... Tick tock....

Meh, I'm going to hell anyway, so who cares!

A final check to make sure my pitchfork is pointy and sharp, which it is. A pause... to ready myself, make sure I'm good, which I am. It's time to chase down Parson and then go straight to hell.
