DISCUSSION THREAD -- OCTOBER 2022 -- 75 Word Writing Challenge

@Luiglin .... The Echoes of Walpole House .... Reminds me that a memory is an internal echo.

@sule .... The Lady Remains .... Reminds me that love does not have to be destroyed by death.

@Mon0Zer0 .... When The Veil is Thinnest .... Reminds me that a prison is whatever stands between you and the freedom to choose.

@Phyrebrat .... Catching the Scythe .... Reminds me that spending time with those you love is never a bad idea.

**I believe that's the first time I ever saw the word scythe in print. We had and used one on the farm where I grew up and it's a word I know but I had to look it up in case it was something I wasn't expecting because the spelling took me by surprise.

Try some of the early Terry Pratchett books that include Death. Scythe pops up a few times.

@Daysman .... A Sliver of Shade .... Reminds me that you never stop serving the ones you love.

@Bowler1 .... A Marriage made in Heaven… (oops!) Hell .... Reminds me that there is no wind so ill as does not blow someone some good.

Pitchforks, fresh garlic, crosses and all the holy water you can carry, get them all here. Don't fall victim to the undead, or the living, or anything else. Pitchforks and stuff.

This months stock may keep the werewolf away from your door, but my sales pitch lacks punch. Stinky garlic is a hard sell.

I wrote three stories for this particular challenge. One will end up here. One will end up in my personal slush pile. And one, which I didn’t feel was quite brooding enough for my Gothic tastes, but thought was a nice seasonal tale, was submitted to Paragraph Planet and they published it today!

@bedyak .... Hot Pursuit .... Reminds me of that assumptions are not facts, and not knowing the facts can be very dangerous.

@Peter V .... By Dawns Early(ish) Light .... Reminds me that some people who think they are smart and cute, wind up being neither.

@Bren G .... Reversion to the Mean .... Reminds me that what is terrifying can in the final analysis be faced down.

@Peter V As a Canadian who loathes daylight savings time, let me just say: I wish I had written your story, if I were a producer I would buy it from you! Great job! The true villain of your story is not the vampire at all but DAYLIGHT SAVINGS TIME! You speak to my soul sir!

@Starbeast .... Dr Meaton Hook’s Gothic Movie Marathon featuring: Christopher Lee .... Reminds me that some things are best left unsaid, and sometimes unseen.

I wasn't going to enter the 75 worder this month, but there was some hidden residual from my 300 worder that surfaced.
So, I just started writing this and that so what can I say. I'm not a poet and yes, I'm aware of it. :sneaky:

But there are some very good and creative ones so far this month! And looking forward to reading the rest of the entries to come.

We have some stinky garlic here in our cellar too. The cellar is free of werewolves! But not spiders...
Hum. Good garlic, rosemary, basil and olive oil should make a nice marinade for some undead shish kabobs! Blah! Blah! Phutt! Accch! Nope, not at all!
Umm, why's my face turning funny colors?
