DISCUSSION THREAD -- December 2023 -- 75 Word Writing Challenge

The Department for Christmas Affairs is a real thing, so you have all been warned. Anyone who doesn't vote for me this month will have their name submitted by me to the Department of Christmas affairs naughty list and next year you won't get any presents. I know this is naughty of me, but I checked and I'm already on the naughty list so I have nothing to lose, which should worry all of you.

So remember this warning when it comes to voting... or else!

ANNOUNCEMENT!

Urgent work is going on to set up a special poll for those -- indeed, listing those -- who submit the names of others to the Department of Christmas affairs, a poll where everyone can vote for every person named in the poll. These votes will then be subtracted from the listed's total in the main December poll.

:devilish:

Can you vote for yourself?

Not only can you vote for yourself in the special poll, but you can place yourself on the list by publicly threatening to report yourself for not voting for yourself. Of course, if you give in to your own blackmail, you will be disqualified.

(I'm not sure, but it looks as if there's at least a slight possibility that doing any of the above is not a winning strategy.)

Well, I'm in and well before I normally post. This was one of those times when the subject and the theme just coalesced into a story idea almost immediately. I might be kinda prejudiced but I thought it was a fun story to write and hopefully to read.

---------

@Hugh .... Sol Invictus .... A story about the victory which is seen every year.
